I've searched the forum but couldn't quite find something describing the same thing as I have.

When I'm stopped and put in D or reverse, I will hear a little click, then and another one when the car starts moving.

Seems to be happening when the car gets in motion and seems to come from the back of the car from what I can tell.

Has anyone experienced a similar sound ?

I've done this on a clicking R34, S15, V35 , J31 Maxima and lastly the M35.

Clicky clacky goes away.

Shaft doesn'tt need to come out , just push it back clean and grease.

Wow thanks mate, even found a few videos

Here it's the exact same click sound :

Here there is a video showing how to get rid of it :

( The guy removed it completely but I get what you meant )

Don't have the appropriate tools but it's gonna be a lot easier to describe to whoever is gonna do it for me now :)

Thanks again, that's the second time you nail it with my M35 annoying noises ;)

Ahh thats right you had handbrake cable clanging like I did, remember being under the car taking a photo before 6am :P

You are welcome :), FWIW i used general purpose grease each time I "fixed" a clicky shaft and no issues. Other than being really annoying there is no real damage that can be done to the shaft from the click.

Just surprised nissan let it happen to a range of cars / years
