But, to the good cops reading this, pull me over if you like, just get prepared to have a nice respectful chat about engineering

You dont even need to finish high school these days to become a cop, so its pointless talking to them about anything other than what specials are on at the local donut shop as they wouldnt have a farkin clue.

if the car you bought was road worthied (i.e by a car dealer) with all the mods in it and you are pulled over and asked to remove modifications, does that the make that road worthy dodgy and hence could possiblly hit up the car dealer for those costs if any to make your car legal/fine.....

This is where it really pisses people off.

The law states that 'Your car can be considered unroadworthy in the OPINION of the police officer' so even if you get a canary and drive straight to a roadworthy centre and they tell you there is nothing unroadworthy about ur car you still end up having to pay the BS $165 fine because according to the OPINION of sum pig they think ur car is unroadworthy. This is just another law that helps raise revenue and gives cops power to just make up shit as they go along even if they dont know what laws they are trying to enforce!!

thats sux major balls... obviously if a hacertified person s asessd your car and said that your car is fine and road worthy then the opinion of the cop is flaud. Cops could just abuse there power and run riot. Hope fully there are good cops around that won't abuse there powers.....

i have a BOV and boost gauge mounted at A pillar.... haven't been pulled over yet, but when i do i'm prety sure i'm gonna get raped... :)

do u get points taken off?

no you do not lose points for gauges.

but in NSW not sure about other states you can lose points for loud stereos and loud exhausts

yes more complete and utter bullsh!t comming from the people who are running this country.

ive seen it happen quite a few times, where a mate would cop a canary, even though he had the permits etc, and the guys at the pits would just take the sticker off and send him on his way.

i wonder what would happen if that cop would get enuff complants towards him?

Steve

its interesting how cops can have all their bullsh!t screens and sh!t all over the dash but because its in thier car its not a defect.

i can gaurantee that all that shit would be more dangerous in the event of an accidnet than an a-pillar mounted boost gauge.

Hey Skliner's, 'tis me, the guy who started this topic! (sorry)

Just as an addition to my original thread..............

My fuel economy......crickey's (I can now actually afford to buy a nice lunch!!)

Normally when I put in $20 of 'expensomax', I get 100km ($30 then 200km etc).

I've just hit the 150km mark on 20 bux!!!!

Boost went down to 7-8psi as opposed to 10-12 psi before I got pulled by 5-O.

I miss the thrilling take-offs, but maybe the money I save will get me a GTR front mount sooner than I thought I could!!!

Anyways.........what's better?......LineTake-off or money saved (simply put!!), potentially going towards more 'legal'(?) power in da Front-mount.

Da Muney or da Box?

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
