Bass Junky
Hey ppls, I going to make up for myself this weekend an Autospeed DIY Boost Control Kit which controls boost level and wastegate creep via two knobs. I recieve very good prices from Pneumatics suppliers due to the industry I work in, so I'm wondering if anybody wants me to make them up a kit while I'm at it.... I wil figure out prices once I have price from my suppliers, and let you know, but right now I'm just feeling the water as to whether anybody would like one. It will be on an aluminium bracket, with all parts required for simply plugging into your car, you may just have to extend some boost pressure lines, depending on where you mount the system. You can read all about the system here http://autospeed.com/cms/A_0670/article.html and it will have the extra valve from the second article also. So, any takers? Anquetil
Doh! Made mine up about a week and a half ago. All my bits excluding bracket cost $110 from Norgren in Brisbane. Bass Junky
Okay, I've got prices back, and it looks like it going to be about $150 complete as you see it in the picture. The little check valve is an expensive little sucker. Kit will come complete and ready to bolt up. You will only need to cut the hose and hook it up. Please advise if you are interested so I can order parts. I will have photos of my set-up after the weekend. Bass Junky
Little side note. I'm not making much is any money out of this. I just figure that if I'm making one for myself, and I know another couple of people who want them, then I can help out. Essential
Bass Junky, I may be informed incorrectly, but this device is simply a bleed valve? Im just trying to get my head aroudn what exactly it does, and how it works? I found the article to not supply the information I was after. Thanks, Essential. Bass Junky
Okay, The second valve is basically a bleed valve, but the first one is a valve which doesn't let the second one see any boost until a set pressure. A 10 psi wastegate spring will be half open at 5 psi. If you stop the wastegate seeing any pressure until a set rate, you bring boost on much faster. that's what this set up does. Guest Robo's
Im not convinced. As soon as a boot it ive got full boost, so how does this give me boost quicker?? Maybe on the tested Audi, they had some inbuilt delayed boost in the computer? Bass Junky
The theory is definently sound. Try booting it in 5th at the boost threshhold, and see how much faster boost builds.
