Knocking Sound Coming From Rear End R34

[R31/4 GTT/S]

Hey guys

I've got a r34 GTT and over the last week this Wierd knocking noise starts while driving an get quicker and louder as speed increases. As the car warms up it sort of goes away a bit.

It doesn't matter if I'm rolling in neutral it's still there but real loud when cold.

Any idea would really help.

Where do I start.

OH and the sound seems to be coming from more the rear right side!?

Look at the underneath of the car on the right side.

Check wheel nuts, drive shaft slop, etc

so if it happens with road speed not revs, you have something loose between the clutch and the road. So gearbox internal (unlikely), tailshaft (likely if you've never replaced the joints), diff (possible), driveshaft (probable), or even wheel not attached properly (loose wheel nuts, spacers installed incorrectly etc).

Jack up the right rear, handbrake off and turn the tyre to see if it can narrow down the clunk.

Or take it to a mechanic, this sort of stuff is very easy on a hoist.

Update: I'm leaning towards wheel bearing. The noise went away but came bak couple of weeks ago. Took the wheel off and the big bolt in the centre was loose.
