Attempting to replace the D-bushes on my front sway, which is stock as far as I can tell (M35). However, I have only found one resource on it... Forums here one guy mentioned it was 29mm stock. Ended up buying cheap calipers and checking it out to be sure and I got 30mm.

Have spoken to a few parts providers, such as eBay sellers and the Nissan dealerships service teams, and they all say the only sizes that are stocked are 26mm, 32mm and 34mm. What?!

Has anybody changed theirs before? Do I have to get a whole new sway bar at a size that actually has D-bushes made for it? Is there some tricky shit going on because I have the turbo AWD variant as opposed to something a bit more basic? What's the go? Any help would be much appreciated!

The bar is 29mm.

OEM rubber are fine, and only cost around $30 from Nissan. I've been using a set of these for years on uprated Swaybars for years with no issues.

Whiteline don't do a replacement in OEM size, but pretty sure nolathane do.

They also use the PTFE impregnated polyurethane which is awesome, and completely maintenance free. They require no greasing or external lubrication.

Thanks for the replies! I've been super lost on what to do about all this.

I'll definitely be contacting Nolathane. I've been to both Autopro and Autobarn this last week and they've only offered the 26/32/34mm variants. I've given them all the details they asked for to the best of my knowledge... Maybe I missed something?

Cheers

Are you looking for OEM rubber replacements or poly bushes? If you're just after OEM bushes you could try a Nissan spares at a dealership part# is 54613AL520 *some* are actually helpful and are happy to order parts (others not so much).

Alternatively purchase via Amayama etc.. Best to order a few items to make it worth the shipping cost (although i've found their shipping Japan->Aust warehouse to be very reasonable).

Other option is upgrade...

Here's to hoping I won't need them custom made!

TCO, anything will do at this stage. We're not 100% sure it'll fix my problem so the sooner I patch this up the closer I'll be to getting it resolved... Have you had experience with both? Any recommendations?

Good info though, really appreciate it!

What issue are you trying to resolve?

Nissan will be hit an miss depending on the parts guys enthusiasm (Morphett Vale guys are pretty helpful). I've bought a bunch of bits and pieces via Amayama, shipped from both UAE and Japan warehouses. Reasonably quick with replying and shipping etc.. haven't had any issues yet, just have to make it worth the shipping.

Have a wobbly/clunky metallic noise from the front end that happens with every little bump in the road. Sounds like something is loose and banging against a rubber surface of some kind. I have a mate who's a 4th year apprentice but has minimal experience with imports, so we did our best at a self diagnosis lol. The previous owner was told it was his ball joints, but we checked those out and didn't look like they were the issue. Noise doesn't seem to be coming from that area when the car is jacked up and the wheels wobbled around. Figured we'd just replace the cheapest parts first since it's not a big deal if they don't fix the issue.

I spoke to the Morphett Vale Nissan parts guy, he was pretty helpful and providing him with the part number you gave made him pretty happy haha. They can get them in but it can take up to 3 months supposedly... Ringing around to see if I can get them sooner, elsewhere.

Part number is; 54613AL520

You can see it below in the exploded diagram. You can also see it in EPCdata, and even order online.
The link rods are there too; there are 3 different pieces, left and right had arms, and a universal base piece that bolts into the lower arm.

Their prices are significantly cheaper for genuine parts than Nissan Australia.

Any chance you could help me with this? https://www.amayama.com/en/search/?q=54613AL520

I'm not sure what the order form is asking me. The top option suggests I'd pay for parts to be sent from Dubai to Japan I think? And the option below from Japan to Australia? Since I need 2 bushes, will I need to order 2 from the top and 2 from the bottom? Confused, haha.

    • Hey lads, reviving an old thread.  As an update, since the last time replied to this thread, ive done mostly suspension. Havent touched the motor except for maintenance. Though upon changing spark plugs, found out i had splitfires pre-installed! Updates: - Got me some stock airbox top cover and snorkel to fit onto the original intake. Should be free of defects - Bought a set of R34 GT-T brakes (not installed yet, going to rebuild + respray in champion blue + white 'Nissan' text) - Bought the last set of bilsteins from @Sydneykid and had them installed. Has been making some sounds on the rear but hopefully should be sorted out after this New Year break. - Regreased front caster rod bushings (poly bushes..) - Rear upper camber arms - Whiteline sway bars (BNF27Z 22mm + BNR11XXZ 24mm).  The rear sway bars are a bit short (ive read 50mm else where) but was still able to get them in.  Anyhows, I reckon suspension is sorted now. Maybe replace bushes (do have a set of front upper control arms from SK not installed yet) but should be okay for now. From now, I'm wanting to start working on the motor, drivetrain etc etc. Still debating on the order to go on and what to buy etc but: - ECU ( Haltech or Link ( Link states that it dont support A/T or AWD functions... Can anyone attest to this? ) - Highflow turbo ( ATR43ss2 ) - Intercooler ( Not decided yet, but cant find many good afoordable ones. Toshi says to opt for crossflow Japanese. Bit difficult this one, unless I get a returnflow Blitz from JJ? ) - Injectors ( Any recommendations ? I do have a nismo FPR ( Thanks SK ) ) - Seats - Tune by either Toshi or DVS To be fair, I did consider just keeping the stock turbo and nistuning it. Sat in a mates stock N, that had something like 200kw, and I reckon that felt more than enough. Maybe I should just go this route ahhaha. Too many choices.... Planning a trip down south, so wanting to just clean things up and make sure it gets to and from in one piece. Anything else specifically I should do before ? Cheers lads
    • Must be for the car’s lucky charm 🤷🏽‍♂️ She runs fine, but it just seems to take about 1L less. Maybe I’ll have the oil sump dropped at some point to check if there is anything
    • Hmmm interesting. Mine is the exact same and clearly the right one.  The mystery of the engine oil being full after 3.5-4L continues
