Hello all, first post on SAU :)

Today i have taken delivery of my first Stagea, and in my excitement of hunting around the interior i have noted the following switch on the dash, just under the clocks to the right of the steering wheel, i can't for my life work out what its for?

Cheers guys :)

If you have the cold pack you should have mirror heaters which come on with the switch for the rear screen defroster,

And post up a pic of your Stagea!

You have clocks to the right of your steering wheel??

I think it's the front windscreen wiper heater ?

Interesting! How does that work?

If your car has the factory optional cold pack, you should also have one of the rear reversing lights have a yellow fog light rather than clear/white. There where so many different options with these cars!

Im not sure if it has the cold pack, but from what you say it may well be true. I have a rear fog light (bonus as i don't need to fit one for UK roads!) and i have yellow front fogs. So its looking good!

I love these things! Its my first and not regretting it!

Brilliant, i didn't realise that! Will help when old GB gets a bit chilly come the winter :)

yeah definitely the cold pack, the fog lights are part of that too.

that switch should work like your rear demister, when you choose it the light should come on, and it will turn off after a few minutes. If the windscreen has ever been replaced it almost certainly won't have the heater elements any more. It just heats the area under the parked windscreen wipers so they are not frozen on if you try to use them.

Cold pack includes

Heated rear view mirrors

Windscreen wiper heater

Front and rear fog lights (rear replaces one reversing light, and results in everyone stopping you in carparks to tell you that you have a reversing light out....)

Thanks Duncan, i will look into the windscreen in a bit more depth, should i be able to see heater wires in the lower edge or something?

Where the windscreen is black at the edges, there should be a very obvious network of elements along the bottom and the sides of the windscreen. Mine are still there after all these years.

I believe the mirrors were replaced at compliance, as I dont have the heated mirrors. However it shouldnt be too hard to make your own heating pads if the wiring is still in the doors (as mine is)

Still, even when its been -5 degrees Ive lived without them.
