Kyb Shocks And King Springs

Hi All,

I have a R33 GTST which has stock suspension. I want to upgrade it to reduce roll and make it a bit smoother. I noticed SCA has KYB shocks and King Lowered springs on their site which you can order a full set for $1114. Is this a combo which people have used? And if so what are their opinions? Alternatives also considered.

No coilovers please as every car I have sat in with coilovers is rock hard and my car is daily driven in traffic and on shitty Adelaide roads.

Nothing wrong with a KYB/King spring combo for street duties, probably be my pick for cheap street car suspension setup. I've been in a couple of cars with this set up and found it to be a good medium.

But for $1114 I would pay a bit extra and buy Bilstein b6 shocks with either king spring or a better spring option.

I'm using Bilstein combo and love it, never will I go near adjustable coilovers again unless racecar.

By far the bet bang for your buck is to start with sway bars, they are about 200 per end and you will really notice the difference.

Gary will still do the SydneyKid modified Bilstein B6s for a decent price. These go well with Kings Springs at the correct (~350mm) ride height.

By the way....I don't think KYB make a single tube damper. Twin tube is inferior. Bilsteins are single. Read the Shockabsorber 101 thread stickied at the top.
