Yeh I've seen them both on car sales and I'm pretty keen on the 2nd one but his overpriced it a bit for a stock car and won't budge on it. I'm willing to give him 27k for it but not 30k. But I don't have much to choose from in midnight purple GTR's. He did say without the wheels he would sell it for 25k which I'm seriously considering atm.

Yeah, other issue's are you don't know how much they've been flogged or how good a job they've done on any mods done.

I've bought my past 3 R33 direct imports from Japan (all stockys) at least you have the satisfaction you know the history of the car more than buying one here.

There's another Yellow one that just came up on the market. They originally were asking $26,000 but strangely put it up to $29,000.

It's got import paper's apparently http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1995/SSE-AD-3691719/?wt.z_driver=homepage_Recently_Viewed3

The GTR engine's are so expensive it's worth taking time to find a good one.

Goodluck.

Yeh that's always the risk you take buying privately is not knowing how much they have been flogged. I'm gunna go look at that midnight purple GTR this weekend and hopeful we can agree on a reasonable price. I thinking i might get it checked over by my mechanic before I buy it so I have a better idea if the condition the car is in.

How can you know more about the car from japan than locally? Isn't a full mechanical check by a qualified mechanic/skyline specialist suffice?

Because when they are complied the rules are stricter as they have to pass a pretty strict roadworthy

inspection. Plus you can get cars with Japanese history's. The parts in Japan shit over the one's we have here. Eg. A heavily modified Japanese Jun Garage car I'd rate over anything built here. The Japanese have better accessibility too to modified parts that suit these cars.

Sure a good mechanic here can inspect a potential car but lets face it, these car's are flogged.

And next to no one will sell one with a roadworthy certificate , even just the GTST's on the market 80% selling privately owned won't give roadworthys....

Alright I've put a deposit down on a GTR. I sent it off to racepace yesterday for a check over and it came back pretty good and we agreed on 28k with a rwc. Can't wait to pick it up on Saturday!!
