I have a new fuel pump.ive checked all the relays and fuses.never seems to do it on boost ,max was probably at 3000rpm.could the crank angle sensor cause this or would that just be a misfire cause it is definatly momentarily dieing in the ass.when it stalls while idling it will start straight away.couldnt find a light on the mines ecu to fault find.i have a consult unit but im not sure what or where to get the software from.was hoping maybe it would give me a code.

No i havent actually replaced and tried the eccs relay.i just checked the connections by pulling out and back in and sort of shaking the harness and plugs around while idling.i cant get my hands on a known 100% maybe a used from the wreckers.

Just thinking could that eccs relay be the cause of when i turn the engine off 50% of the time it still runs for a bit although roughly at sort of half idle .it usually stops byself after about 5 seconds or if i just press the accelerator it will then stop and then at that point  the relays or whatever sound i hear in the car actually click and thats when it shuts down like the ignition is still on until i press the acelerator.i changed the ignition swtch but still the same and i dont have  a turbo timer.maybe problem is related.oh and also sometimes to start starter motor just clicks.also changed that but still the same.ok thats all the electrical problems i have.maybe its all related.

Sounds like a complete mess.  Too much of a mess to try to tease out whether you've got one root cause or a bunch of separate ones.  I would say though that it is eminently possible that someone has done something....inappropriate with the ECU/ECCS wiring at some point which could cause it all.  Booting a Nissan ECU is a bit like booting a PC.  There is always power fed to part of the "motherboard" and when you send a signal on one pin it causes the rest of it to boot up.  The ECU has some feedback in its wiring to keep the ECCS relay powered after you remove your external power up signal.  When....unskilled people play with that wiring you can get freaky behaviour like you describe.

Yeh your 100% right the wiring especially under the dash has been messed around with by previous owner.its only been playing up say the last say 6 months.ill just slowly start eliminating one thing at at a time.i do have an electronics background but its never hurts to ask for ideas.cheers for the help.

Ok.stalling and cutting out issues sorted.i remember my vl turbo many years ago had a plug near the dizzy that when u jiggled it would stall.so i replaced my cas with a spare i had.the connector plug had the locking tab busted but since i swapped it over the stalling at idle problem and the brief cutting out at revs has stopped.maybe just taking the plug on and off sorted it could not safely acesses this plug while engine was running.bought a new plug and i will replace.1 problem solved.

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
