GTR32 seats are too high

Hi guys,

I am finding that the stock seats are too high for my liking in my R32.

I understand my options are to shave the foam in the seats, chop the rails, or buy rails that get the seat to sit lower. I do not want to buy aftermarket seats.

Can anyone recommend a shop in sydney to customise the seats for me?

Or if buying new rails are a better option, if you could recommend ones that will be a direct swap.

Thanks everyone.

Wow........ Are you 8' 5"?

I'm 6" 0" and wish they were a couple of inches higher.

The low seating position took me some time getting use to.

Have you compared your seats to others? I'm just wondering if someone has already modified them the other way.

Cheers,

Bob.

Slightly OT but my aftermarket Bride rail (bottom mount) is actually higher than the R34 OEM rail. You can easily see why too, the Bride front legs have a down bit before the mount, whereas the OEMs don't. There's a good 20-25mm difference and the front of my Sparco sits easily higher than the stock passenger seat (bottom of the bucket is lower though).

For maximum low you'd need:

  • Lowest possible rails (likely custom)
  • Side mount brackets (which means no slider)
  • Aftermarket seat (most likely fixed back only)
