Pearcey
Now apart of the stagea family Hi all, Been apart of this forum for a few years now which has been very valuable after owning a couple R34s in the past. Times have changed and I need something practical for work, fun and wouldn't break the bank, so long behold I just put a deposit on a stagea! Car is in great nick and has a fair few goodies on it according to one of my mates that also own's an NM35. Only downside is that it has the dreaded turbo whine not excessively loud and still performs fine, which I expected from any M35 that hadn't had its turbo rebuilt at some point and allowed for in my budget. What i wanted to know is if someone could give me a brief run down on there experience and whats involved in removing the turbo without pulling the motor (special tools required, part removal sequence). Car also has one of scottys dump pipes. I haven't had a chance to look under the car yet to see whats required but when the time comes I plan on posting a detailed DIY seeing as no ones done it yet. Cheers, 3 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/ Share on other sites

Cheers, Such enthusiasm its good to see.... that will change lol. There was a thread about the turbo swap but can't seem to find it. Its one of the worst jobs you will do on this car for sure. No special tools are needed just sockets with extender bars and swivel ends including a new set of knuckles. Good too see steven's car sold. (Assuming its the same one). He also has a lsd diff for sale you should go buy and install. Welcome to the family 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7772115 Share on other sites

conan7772
Nice purchase, looks like you have a suspension kit under there too. Great work car, I use mine for building. I love going to the timber yard and parking next to all the utes and vans.. Haven't seen another Stag in there yet 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7772294 Share on other sites

Yeah I managed to find a somewhat detailed thread how ever it involved pulling the motor which i'd rather avoid. Yep its Steven's, still waiting on him to get the roadworthy, never mentioned anything about an LSD, I'll have to ask him about it. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7772720 Share on other sites

Pearcey
Picked up the car and i'm loving it!! Spent a couple hours today starting to make that pearl shine (size of these cars is daunting) so that's going to consume my spare time this week! But for now question time! - Previous owner removed the pop out screen, I've replaced it today and it doesn't function how ever i don't have the nav unit in the glove box which i'm guessing is why it wont function? - What are people running in the way of cabin controlled BOVs? I'm a fan of the GFB stealth II just unsure of there compatibility on the VQ. - Exhaust suggestions? I believe the car already had fujitsubo on it previously Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7774470 Share on other sites

I believe the car already had fujitsubo on it previously Yea you need the dvd rom & tv tuner to run the screen. I believe this had a stock exhaust as he didnt get the chance to fit the exhaust. Im running a turbosmart kompact BOV (not sure why you want a cabin controlled unit). datmoo
Do you mean cabin controlled boost controller? If so I highly recommend the Innovate SCG-1. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7774514 Share on other sites
Pearcey
Will definitely be looking into boost controllers soon, in regards to cabin controlled BOVs (GFB deceptor pro in particular) allow you to switch between plumb back, vent to atmosphere or anything in between for full gobble if you wish (don't judge) haha. Venting to atmosphere from what i understand will lower the intakes air volume hense messing with ecu fuel/air volumes. Car will stall, shoot flame, rough idle if the ECU is not tune for such circumstances i believe. Pearcey
Nothing like a good bbq, maybe I'll just opt for the kompact. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/466607-my-nm25-build/#findComment-7774921 Share on other sites
admS15
I had blocked mine temporarily, it ran fine and dosed pretty damn good and costed zero. Ended up reverting to stock when the novelty wore off. Atmo does usually cause issues.
