G35 front calipers onto R34 25gt

Essentially the title says it all, have people done this conversion on a skyline before? I've mainly seen it done on Silvias to great success since they either swap in gtst or brembos from skylines anyways.

I would assume the swap onto an N/A r34 would be identical to gtt swap just needing the uprights drilled to14mm.

Would be a decent upgrade from the 280x26mm rotor to a 320x28 from the g35. Biggest reason behind this route is that I'm located in Canada and sources parts for skylines is quite difficult quickly so I decided to try and swap it to a domestic vehicle with plenty of stock for less headaches.

Thanks for any one with more info on this setup!

Hi mate, I'm not specifically familiar with G35 onto R34 swap, but generally the 32/33/34 series stuff is interchangeable but 35 and later use a different offset disc and caliper that may or may not fit. So G35/V36, M35, Z33, V36, Z34 etc all interchange but not necessarily with an r34.

If you are able to do a trial fit I'm sure the v35 stuff would be much easier to find in canadia than any of the other ones except perhaps a Z32 aftermarket big brake kit

i see, for the most part im purely trying to get a grasp of how they would fit from a reference point of this thread, http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=560515 which shows the guy had done the swap from the g35 onto an s13. As stated in the article himself the bolt patterns are the same but the rotors themselves would need replacing to match the g35 along with potentially cutting some of the caliper mounting bolts for clearance issues. Thanks for any more information though!

Just going to continue this thread into a build log with how things have progressed and if they fit etc. The calipers themselves have arrived and are very similar in sizing to the stock 2 pot sumitomo in the R34 25gt  bolt patterns are identical but pads seem quite a bit larger than the R34 ones. Waiting on rotors to come in to do complete mock up before drilling out the holes to 14 to fit the new caliper bolts.

I thought about the helicoils, unsure if the bolt hole for m14 bolts is too large for an m12x1.25 helicoil (12.3mm for m12x1.25 helicoil and the m14x1.25 bolt hole is already 12.8? Or so not sure) Will have to look into it for sure since can't really reverse drilled hubs easily.

No clue what happened with all the quotes, on mobile so posting got a little messed

The threads in these things are inserts that can be removed and changed to the other size anyway.

Contact this spanker http://www.sau.com.au/forums/profile/107339-ben-c34/ to see if he still has any of the 12mm inserts.

Oh snap you wouldn't happen to know how much for those sleeves would you? By far the drilling out of the hubs does set the car up easier for m14 Brembos and what not in the future when I add more power, but the sleeves right now would be great to guarantee a dead level fit.

So the pictures attached are the before and after of the G35 brakes install. I didn't realize it but the bolts on my skyline were identical to the ones that the g35 came with. The digital caliper I used to measure the bolt diameter at the threads were identical. 13.7~mm for both bolts. No drilling needed even though I'm fairly certain that the brakes are m12x1.25 bolts for the r34 25gt same as r33 gtst etc.
Definitely fills up the wheel a lot more and the space between caliper and wheels are greatly reduced as the disk is a 320mm/12.58inch disk vs the 280mm disk on the NA skyline.

Looks great! Have you got a photo with the wheel off? The front seems to have a lot more rotor area than the stock R34 GTT 310mm discs, more than the 10mm diameter difference would suggest.
