That is true but will not sell skyline

will keep it and tune it later .

what is standard injectors good up to?

the issue is when I am calculating the cost it can easily exceed 8-9k in pounds which I could be putting toward an m5

i have split fire coil and think i can upgrade exu to link and turbo to straight fit ones which should give me 330 to 340 bhp at flywheel

i own an intercooler so can upgrade that as well for no cost

Or thinking more

I initially wanted to go all crazy with 500 bhp but soon realised it is too much work to do at this stage due to personal circumstances
I work 6 days a week and want to do it all myself

But i don't want to wait for a while to get time and also lots of expenses for this
So for short and maybe mid term i want to tune it so have much better performance than stock

Planning to buy m5 in few month

So far i have

Boost controller

K&n air filter
Splitfire coil
Okish intercooler . It is rated at 500bhp but looks like one of those chinese ones which is sold by a uk firm . It came installed
Coilover
Braided lines ..
Uprated brake (350mm) with brembo

What I want to do is

Walbro 255 - £80

Link ecu - £1400
Maybe injectors depending on current injector capacity £400
Existing turbo or direct bolt on ??
I have seen posts people saying you can change the ceramic shaft and others saying some firm make a modified t3 housing

I don't ideally want to change manifold and clutch

With above setup how much hp is realistic ?

I am thinking with around 2-3 k i should be able to get 400 bhp at flywheel
Is that too ambitious?

There are Nistune dealers in the UK.  Buy locally.

Buy the HG turbo from HG in Australia and just pay the $3.50 or whatever it adds up to for import costs.  Stop thinking about it and just do it.  Also get whatever he says you need to fit it (hoses, connectors, etc) from him.

You will need injectors.  Just buy 1000cc Bosch EV14 based ones.

You will need a Z32 AFM if you use Nistune.  That's the price you pay for not swapping to a completely different ECU.

Thanks GTSboy considering most of times you are sarcastic but thank you really:)

The import cost is 20% which is fine but what isn't is that I understood it as I need to send my turbo, they will change shaft and then send it back which means AU may charge import and uk do the same on return

If they sell one without sending mine then that will be great

Will get injectors. What brand would you get

As for AFM i am getting link which comes with a map sensor . I believe this is replacing the current afm installed right before air filter
( i read the difference between afm and map but can't recall it)

Yes but extra pressure can heat fuel up if not used

2 words.  Voltage control.

Also, don't buy a high flow from HG.  Buy an ATR to suit your power goal.  But even if you did get a highflow from him, you can just pay him to source a core for you.

Could you decipher this please :D

Who is HG and what do you mean by him sourcing a core for me

Apologies not sure what you mean by atr

Ok so when i install link ecu which comes with internal 4 bar sensor then that will replace the maf? Do i just unplug it

Would i need external maf if I am not going above 20-30 psi? In another word is therea difference between external and internal maf if i don't go above 20psi?

Should i get a new iat?

I am also researching voltage control so can install a bigger pump . Is there anything specific people use? I am wiring a new positive and negative direct from battery to pump to replace existing cables which cannot provide a higher voltage

ok I am about to buy the link plug and play

question I have is, my car is not running well due to boost pressure control ( Hitachi Bosch PS66-01) not working (un plugged).

I don't want to waste £120 buying that sensor so would you keep driving car as is with standard ecu or buy link and drive it with base map for a while ?

It will be good few month before I can take it for remap .

my real question is how reliable is link base map

There is no such thing as a base map.  ECU goes in while the car is strapped on the dyno.  Do not half arse this stuff.  Buy all the shit you need and do it all at once.  This half half stuff will cause you nothing but pain.

Why is the boost sensor disconnected?

the nipple which you connect the hose to is broken and brand new is between £120-150

an ecu is £1300 . the sensor won't be used when putting link it so wasting money really but don't want my car to run bad as a result

might just bite the bullet and get the sensor

Which nipple? If you mean the boost source I drilled and tapped a hole in the compressor housing - pretty sure the nipple was less than $10

Sitting down and thinking through this i am still going to get injectors, ecu and pump( bought walbro255)

Then really i am not saving anytime as rather than using hyper gear i could get twin scroll with internal wastegate
The only extra i need is exhuast manifold

The only hassle is custom downpipe. I am not paying fortune to tuners and do it myself so how do you go about getting the right downpipe sorted?

I guess the manifold will be a split design but you still get one twin port to mount turbo on
From turbo to exhaust would you have two pipes or one?

If I go top mount, does it fit in engine bay with my carbon bonnet?

    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
    • Hows your intake piping? Are you still running stock? Having in the stock AFM position would mean, if the BOV was shut/venting out, it'd create the almost stalling kind of effect right // "the rich pulse behaviour" due to MAF thinking air is flowing ? But this would be better than having the bov in the stock position + MAF on/just before cross over piping right?
    • Essentially, yes. Although I wouldn't put the AFM on the crossover pipe. I'd want to put it into what amounts to the correct size tube, which is more easily done in the intercooler pipework. I bought a mount tube for card style AFM that replaces the stock AFM - although being a cheap AliExpress knockoff, it had no flange and I had to make and weld my own. But it is the same length and diameter as the stock RB AFM, goes on my airbox, etc etc. I don't have a sick enough rig to warrant anything different, and the swap will take 5 minutes (when I finally get around to it and the injectors & the dyno tune).
    • So to summarise, the best thing to do is to move recirc to between turbo and IC, and maf on the crossover pipe. Meaning I'd need a recirc flange, drill a hole in the piping on turbo outlet area. And drill hole on crossover to fit/weld maf sensor? Either that or put the MAF on the turbo inlet right?  Is an aftermarket recirc/blowoff valve recommended? Do currently have family in Japan so could probably bring something back with maybe a cheeky lil SuperAutobacs run?
