absolutely, the block and cradle are a pair. Even when they come together from the the same engine they should still be measured and potentially machined to make sure the main bearing clearances are correct.

so what can i do ? i have a block but no cradle, does that mean my block is useless ? do i just need to find a cradle and get it machined to suit block ? can i buy a new cradle from spool and get that machined to suit ? im lost

Would almost be easier to keep your eye out for another complete block.. There's quite a few on facebook sale pages at the moment.

I know it's not great news, and no you are not lost, they are pretty much your choices.  I'd either buy a different block (probably cheapest option) or buy a new cradle if that's an option (I assume its aftermarket and a different style). If you choose the latter you need to get the block tunnel bored which I don't really like in these engines because it moves the crank relative to the oil pump

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you need to buy the Spool girdle in conjunction with their main cap kit which is another $1600 or so.  I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.  You can get the mains on their own but not the girdle on it's own.
