Question: Altesa code 19: ETS motor, motor relay or circuit

What exactly does this mean?

It means there's a fault in either the ETS motor, the relay that runs the motor, or the wiring involved in the above.  The ETS motor would be the ATESSA pump.

And most often the earth strap from the attessa pump above the diff is missing or broken. Could also be the relay (in the boot near the lock). Actual wiring or motor failure is least likely

Got under the car today, Had close to no idea what i was looking for, Anyone got a photo or a little more information about this earth strap?

I bypassed the relay in the boot and had no pump sound

Update: Think it was because i had never tighten up the battery terminals

Hehe.  That's a long way from where the diagnostics said the problem was!  Good thing we're not getting paid for this!

I just hope it doesn't come and bite back later on when I can drive the car (Still on p plates)

A long way physically but a short way logically :).....attessa needs power and earth to operate

The R32 electronics are quite sensitive to voltage drops. I simply swapped out the neg/earth cable from battery to body and it improved my HICAS from "trying to kill me all the time" to "occasionally trying to kill me", before I disconnected it.
