widebodys illigal??

ok so i am thinking of making a wide body for my stagea rear pannel. i was just curious if it was illigal and would i get any trouble with cops? i was thinking of somthing like the mechanicals stigs stagea... very sililiar to it..... basically the same as it. im making a custom bumper where the top 1/4 is stock and bottom 3/4 is a gtr bumper.

What isn't illegal these days lol. Cops will always crack down on something on a modified car. 

Interested to see the results of the rear bar. Do you have any photos of the progress so far?

I dont think its the wide body that would make the car illegal, but the wheels you would run. Eg much wider and bigger than stock.

all ive done is got a spare front bumper and a gtr bumper lol, i havent started the wide body as my stagea is my daily and i have to buy a new car before i start. im not 100% keen on going a full rear gtr wide body. but when i start ill get photos

I think there are width limits applicable mostly to 4WDs, not sure if it encompasses passenger vehicles too.
But if the 86's run stock width wheels with the wide body then it might be ok? But none do.

If youre seriously that worried about getting defected for a mild fender increase then ask an engineer who can sign off on mods and they will confirm for you.

If you do it well you most probably won't get caught, just don't act like an idiot to the police.
