EOI Trade - 290kw JZS147 aristo 2JZ for GTR 32/33

Wanting to trade my single turbo JZS147 aristo for a lightly modified R32/R33 gtr in Sydney. Or even sell outright if someone is interested.

Not massively fussed on colour, just a clean body with no rust & light modifications is mainly what I'm after, only wanting a weekend street car for now, as the aristo has been for a few years.

Reason for trade is i have no need for the big 4 door, i miss driving manual as my daily is also an auto, & all my spare bits & pieces are for an RB26, not so good for a 2jz.

Quick specs list:
* 1995 S2 in black with leather interior & factory sunroof, factory LSD, cruise control

* Rego valid until September 2017

* shift-kitted auto gearbox with trans cooler & factory converter

* 2JZ with single Garrett GT3582 turbo making 286kw at the wheels on 18psi

* Apexi Super AFC piggyback on standard ECU

Turbosmart eboost street boost controller (set to 15psi low & 18psi high boost)

19" work meisters

Veilside twin 3" exhaust

* adjustable fuel pressure reg with gauge in engine bay

* I'm sure there's a whole lot more I've forgotten here

Plenty of work done, this is a quick car even for its weight & size. Traction control is there for a reason. I've had this car for the past 3 years now, had a lot of maintenance & servicing work carried out to bring the car back up to a reliable level:
* radiator replaced approx 12 months ago

* lots of seals replaced as it was leaking oil in a few places (no longer), these include front & rear mains

* turbosmart 40mm external wastegate installed & plumbed back into exhaust - approx 12 months old

* turbosmart bov fully plumbed back - approx 12 months old

* Apexi Super AFC & Turbosmart eboost installed as part of upgrade works roughly 12 months ago

Car value is being listed at $13K neg, I have roughly 10K in receipts alone for work carried out in the past 2 years. I can add cash on top for a tidy GTR up to a certain point, or I also have a road bike which I can throw in to increase the value on my side.

Please PM me on here, or msg 0407 896 339 for further info, questions or offers.

Cheers, Chris

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
