Redline_GTR
Once again getting to that time of year for a cruise up Putty Road! Date: Sunday 18th of December Meet Location: Corner Windsor Road and Groves Avenue McDonald's / KFC Meet Time: Meet at 9:00am for a 9:30am departure Destination: The Royal Hotel, Singleton Map: https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-33.6257063,150.8382563/-33.60192,150.8219818/7755+Putty+Rd,+Garland+Valley+NSW+2330/Royal+Hotel-Motel,+84+George+St,+Singleton+NSW+2330/@-33.0497301,151.2863625,10z/data=!4m16!4m15!1m0!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b0cfd0f940d6db7:0x818eda6b9975306!2m2!1d150.748518!2d-32.9074811!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b0cafd7fd5df341:0xb21f7907d7a5223e!2m2!1d151.1759492!2d-32.562653!3e0?hl=en We will meet at McDonald's / KFC on Windsor road and from there will head onto Putty Road. There will be a break at the Halfway Truck Stop which we should reach at approximately 11:30am. For all the Newcastle folks this will be a good point to join up. From here we will continue on to Singleton for lunch. Please remember to fill up prior to heading onto Putty Road. There will not be a fuel stop until Singleton. At Singleton there is a range of servo's available including BP, Shell and Caltex. There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. We will also be bringing along walkie talkies to keep the group together so if you have one please bring it along. If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior! This is NOT a race and we will all be adhering to all road rules. If this is what you want please come to one of our many track days. This is an official SAU:NSW event and will be run under a CAMS permit. One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general. When attending one of Skylines Australia NSW events please try to: • Be aware of surrounding environment and act accordingly. • Drive courteously on the state’s roads as a true enthusiast should. • Understand how important it is to maintain the good name of SAU:NSW and thus, treat others accordingly.• Any misbehaviour will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave. Thanks guys and hope to see you there! 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/467627-sau-nsw-2016-end-of-year-putty-road-cruise-18th-dec/ Share on other sites

Global_Warmer
The bride and I will be there in GTRWGN (Nissan Stagea 260RS).Any Newcastle/Hunter Valley people are welcome to join us. We will leave Singleton at 10.30am. We will meet behind the shopping centre in Ryan Avenue near the big sundial. The same spot we've met up for this cruise for the last few years. Hope to see a few of ya's. It'd be great to have a decent convoy to drive down to the Halfway Roadhouse to meet the main mob. This is always an excellent day out and a great opportunity to drive one of the best damn roads in the state! 3 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/467627-sau-nsw-2016-end-of-year-putty-road-cruise-18th-dec/#findComment-7789639 Share on other sites
Global_Warmer
May I also suggest to the organisers that you use York St from John Street in Singleton. As last year we all went up Hunter Street straight past the police station. Which the boys in blue came out for a look and patrolled around The Royal hotel. There's also no traffic lights at the end of Hunter Street making it absolute chaos trying to get +50 Skylines through town. If we use York St, it has traffic lights at the end of it to aid in turning left onto New England highway and it's blocks away from the police station. Either that. Or drive the entire length of John Street and go into the Royal hotel via the back streets. RBrennan25
Will try and make this as it is by far the best cruise of the year. Put me down as a maybe because I may get stuck working. Let's hope not 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/467627-sau-nsw-2016-end-of-year-putty-road-cruise-18th-dec/#findComment-7789646 Share on other sites
GTofuS-T
This is probably the best idea, as turning right from the New England Highway to the Royal can take ages due to oncoming traffic. 2 hours ago, Global_Warmer said: Either that. Daleo
It's definitely worth mentioning that NSW HWP are targeting The Putty Road heavily now; they are hiding in the bushes in full Camouflage fatigues, and using Polair helicopters. First time I've ever heard of that and I live in Singleton at the end of Putty Road. I travel it frequently and rarely see a police car on its entire length to Windsor. Some friends were at the Blue Gum Cafe on bikes last week, and there were 2 HWP cars with 4 police officers in Auscam fatigues. They blitz the area every spring and summer, last year it was handing out defects to riders for aftermarket exhausts and tail tidies without reflectors. This is the new trick.
