Installing a AfterMarket TachoMeter

So guys I'm trying to install a AfterMarket Tachometer on my R34 Skyline GTT 98. It's a Autotechnica one (Picture Below)

The Tachometer has RED 12v Wire
White (Lights up the Tachometer) Wire
Black (Ground Earth) Wire
& Green ( Tacho Sensor )

Now the only problem is I can't figure out what color my Tacho Wire is on my ECU

I've looked up the diagram and it says Pin 7 but what color would it be, its hard to see and trace back.
Someone has said Green/Yellow, some say Red/Yellow but which one is it, I don't want to cut the wrong wire.

And also where would be the best place to hook up the Red Power Wire and the White Wire.

I'm installing it on my Dash Cluster to replace my current one, because my Tachometer on my Original Dash isn't working properly
so I'm using this to replace it.

My R34 pinout says pin 5 white/black. Just had a look at the MCM video above which just happens to be on an R34 so it couldn't be easier. It appears to me that they have tapped into a black/white wire but you can just bare a bit of wire and test it without re-installing the cluster and if its right you're away. However if the problems with your tacho are caused by say a short caused by a pinched wire somewhere then you might have to go right from the ecu

No I didn't, but the ecu wires come up to the cluster anyways, the only problem is that the after market tachometer doesn't even turn on, let alone have a rev signal. Maybe my power source or ground is not properly wired

Did you get a set of wiring instructions with the new tacho?

The thing is that, even if I didn't wire up the tachometer signal, the tachometer should turn on with just the Red wire and black wire running. But in this case it's not. Because I've wired up my tachometer wires all up but maybe got the wrong wire. I even tried my Red wire on my cigarette wire but no power still :(

The wiring instruction says
Red - 12v Power
Yellow - Illumination (Light)
Black - Ground
Green - Tachometer signal

Try your tach across the battery in case its a dud. if that's ok check that your cigarette lighter has power...preferably use a test light or multimeter (you can get them for less than $20) to identify a switched 12v source.
