But for how long??? I think Merli is on a mission!!!!!!

Now how much of a nitrous shot were you going to put in Merli??? ;)

Not big enough I fear :)

How can I compete with a T78 w/ Nitrous?? I'll be running at about 150-200hp deficit, and if wreckedhead can "only" manage a 10.8 @ 126mph, I stand NO CHANCE in breaking into the 10s :D:(:)

Hey Andrew, look at his MPH. Nitrous will give you a quicker time, it's mainly off the line where it counts. But MPH is going to be more turbo based considering the small amounts of nitrous used.....Brett was doing 128MPH turbo only!~ chop chop

why was brett mph higher.....top run by the way wreckhead!!!! :headspin: :headspin: compared to what leewah ran and his extent of mods that was a super effort!!!! :headspin: :headspin:

Aren't street cars allowed to run semi-slicks now?? I thought the car ran the time on semi's, out of interest what size and type of tyre were they as the 60ft is nothing less then amazing??

hey buster i had some 18in x 10s wheels fitted on the back, with falken super touring hard compound slicks on the back only, they were super hard as we couldnt warm them up while doing a burn out as most people that were there with me noticed, it was still spinning like crazy off the line, but i dont care street car or non street car im going to get soe soft compoun bf goodrich slicks and go again, i wish with the soft slicks we/i can beat 10.8

If you go full slicks then you are gonna have to go alot quicker than 10.8 to get in that top 10.

So your 10.8 was not on full nitto or similiar tyres? If not then you wont get into the HPI top 10

hey inasnt it doesnt bother me if im on HPI top 10, im doing this for myself

Thats amazing, we should see a lot lower 60ft and et then with the sticky goodrich tyres, it will ge great to see

I think you'll find if your talking about the BF Goodrich Drag Radials that they're fine for all street tyre records as they are a radial tyre ;)

i hope the bf goodrich drag radials are beter then the tyres i had for the lst run, i was shocked and ripped off on those slicks, i hope we get to se the video soon, so i can hear the 3rd gear miss, im just wondering what the time wouldhave been with a clean gear change and beter tyres, hmmmmmmmmmm

wreckedhead,

Congrats on the 10.8 mate. A great achievement. I don't think there are many people out there who understand how difficult it is to get into the 10s.

Keep up the good work and hope to see you in the 9s soon. I'm still working to get there :P

Dude, as I said those circuit slicks aren't going to do the job you want!

BFG DRs or drag slicks will however, and it's well documented what size DRs and what size drag slicks work on a GTR.

Remember the BFG gForce DRs in 17"/18" aren't what you want. You want the 15" BFG Comp TAs with nice big fat sidewalls (50/60/65 profile).

    • I know right. It baffled me. There's no way when the engine is off, key is in ignition, (coils are dissconnected aswell), also my sound system was dissconnected (I don't run any audio capacitors), battery reads 12.2v and with the 10amp fuse blown I was measuring 24 to 30v. The reading would move a bit from 30v to 24v which was weird. I took a pic of the multi meter reading 🤣: (This is a brand new single channel digital oscilloscope that also has a multi meter mode).   Before when the fuse was blown, I had one lead on the 12v supply (green/white wires) of that brown relay and the other lead on the negative battery terminal. When I turned the key on ignition (engine off), it would read 30v. Then when I removed that relay from it's plug and tried putting ignition on again, it would read 12v, but I think it's because it can't turn on the ecu now that I removed it. I asked Chatgpt and this is what it had to say:   Not sure if those theories would be possible but, any auto sparkies here? welcome to confirm. 🤷‍♂️  No idea, but if it happens again, atleast I know what type of issue it is, unlike last few months where I didn't know what was causing all my issues and I was just taking stabs in the dark to figure out what type of problem it was. If it does happen again I'm going to investigate futher and trace back the source even more and inspect more circuits. I drove it to work this morning and the car drove and boosted fine. Yeah I was thinking the same, so I've imported my back up saved map (which is the map that I saved when it got done tuning) back onto my haltech with the base fuel pressure set to 43.5psi.
    • Yeh nice, if your in melbourne could you recommend any exhaust shops in the east that do a good job?
    • Sorry yes, this is what im after Also, that jpjdm site appears to be offline
    • @Duncan Random side note, did the cops give you the driver/owners details of the taxi and then did Shannons give you a refund of the excess once you supplied those details?
    • Yeah to be clear I'm not naive, I'm sure all insurance companies are a bunch of arseholes who pay people bonusses based on the value of genuine claims they avoid....I just don't want to go back to one that has personally f**ked me multiple times in the past
