I have been a long time admirer of the stagea and an even longer wagon fan (my second car was a dirty old Cortina wagon back in the day). I have since owned a couple of others but this is my first foray into any wagon with decent power! Finally.

Picked up my 2001 M35 yesterday and starting to fall for it already. Few things to fix but think I'll be owning this one a while so all good.

Cheers all!

Cheers Coullsy, it's definitely growing on me.

At the moment plans are firstly just trying to figure out why it stutters under heavy acceleration load. I've checked and cleaned the AFM, check tighened all intake/intercooler piping and was thinking possibly a stuffed turbo as it's got a decent whine but then took it for a spin on a cool night tonight and pulled hard so not turbo at least!

Thinking maybe fuel or ignition coils.. More diagnostics required.

That and getting the aftermarket stereo working, boost guage working, 4WD light (Relay?) fixed, boot struts re-gassed and would be nice for my key fob to open the doors...

Haha, just a couple of things on the list...;)

Then maybe when all thats sorted I can think about getting it to breathe a bit easier and surprise a few taxi drivers.. :D

A few small things to fix comes with the territory of second hand cars unfortunately.

For the stutters is does sound like to coils breaking down, it would be worth while checking the wiring for breaks as well. I wouldn't think it would be the fuel system as it was keeping up on the cool night. If a fuel pump over heats it will stutter all the time, not just at high load.

I'm not too familiar with the 4WD systems in these, it would be best having a search of the forum, almost certainly someone else has had this issue.

It will all come together and be quite a nice car to have.
