260Rs front suspension removal - help!

Hi all,

I need your help, just removing my standard 260rs suspension to MCAS and have bumped into a dead-end, the rears are done but I am having issues with the front, all bolts are removed however on the bottom I have what looks like a cover, I can't remove it. I've removed the nut on the bottom but can not see the other side. Please see picture attached. any help please?

I totally don't understand that pic. Are you trying to remove the shock? If so could you provide a pic of the bottom of it?

Hi Duncan,

 

That is the bottom section of it, that's the front passenger side suspension. the picture is the right side, on the other side is where the nut is.

I think Duncan is saying that the picture doesn't necessarily show too much as it's too close.. if you give a picture of the whole area so we can identify what is what, people can help..
alternative to that, where are you located ? A kind person may be nearby that can drop in point a few things out and be on their way.. their is definitely a lot of helpful peeps here from my short and limited experiences

Hi all, so I was suppose to getting Di e by my mechanic but his booked out... so I thought I'll try again... same issue I can't find the other end of the bolt.

I've taken the nut off on the other end but struggling to find the bolt. it looks like a cover and I've tried to lightly tap it out but there is no movement.

OK, got it now. You've got the nut off, but the shock is still in place, and you are trying to remove the "bolt" that the bottom of the shock is on.

So it's actually a stud, not a bolt, and it's not meant to come off.  Just pry lightly between the shock and the upright to push the shock off the stud. A big screwdriver or small pry bar will do it, dead easy.

It's great! haven't driven it much as it's more of my weekender but so far so good! feels just like standard love it!
