Ebay brand Din gauge holders?

Has anyone used these ebay brand Single Din Gauge holders?

Is the fitment ok? Sturdy?

Something along these lines?

Usually I would mount gauges higher around the steering column, but I do not want to drill into the dash. 

Anything better ideas?
