More OEM goodness, special thanks to Andrew @ Kudos Motorsports for the parts. Cheaper, faster than Nissan themselves so winner in my books!

Looking good, you've made Edward Lee proudemoji6.png

Edward would cum his pants lol

Can't wait to dose again, with an older GT style compressor wheel it will dose great ??

Last night's efforts involved getting the timing kit on, checking all timing marks and getting the tension of the belt on correctly. Alternator and water pump ancillary belt on too!

Yes I know it's a Gates belt, part of me remembers I ordered a stock belt but after opening the package just the other week after a year it got me by surprise lol. Maybe the guys at 999 Automotive packed the wrong thing or I actually ordered the wrong kit, nevertheless it's on!

Brand new crank pulley on too, none of that fancy Ross business either. OEM should be good for the "stock" motor lol.

Looking good. Where did you get the drip tray that fits over the engine stand - looks like a good idea.

I borrowed it from my mate haha.. I think he got the lot from Burson's

The quicker I get this shit box done, the quicker I can throw it on the dyno and start tuning it. Started to get the itch, thus the build thread is moving a bit faster.

Already altered my existing map for the new motor, predicting it would be a little laggier I've flattened the timing instead of ramping it once torque decays

nice bits...

the question is...will you be able to keep up with the ricecake at wakie.....

i'll be holding it flat through the kink with ~310kw m8...then hard on the brakes & hot into the first corner....powering out with the force of 1000 naprec's

Le Siet Bok never stands down a challenge, this heap of shit barge is made for the straights! *cough* Powercruise, Roll Racing, WSID lol

In seriousness, should be able to be competitive at Wakefield, hopefully dip into the 1m5s~6s with a proper driver.

Man I'm getting tired of putting this croc of shit together. Constantly sleeping late, skipping gym and smelling like a degreaser meth lab lol.

Tonight's effort: cam baffle plates, half moons, cam covers, cas bracket and sealed up the sump.

I ended up with 2x 10mm dark bolts that have rounded ends after the thread finishes. Not too sure where they go lol.

Looks mint. I have some spare rb25 covers (which have been gutted internally to fit a 26) that are perfect for putting in an engine so you dont mark your freshly painted ones... but looks like the new ones are permanently on!!!

Isn't building an engine a workout anyway? :P Just dead lift the engine or squat with the head or something.

I've actually injured my back several months ago... these days I'm deadlifting what my missus does at the gym and it's a struggle :(

So close yet so far, typical NBNish delivery lol.. Over budget and project schedule blown out of the water.

Got the hot side on, then found out drain doesn't fit lol... Fine, eBay some dim sim goodness, should arrive soon.

Then go and fit the coldside, started to look good.. Then yep, just my luck all thr injector boss o-rings are cracked from prolong exposure in my tool box. Decided to Yolo and ordered 1550cc Bosch injectors, Plazmaman rail and now will remove the R33 plenum and fit the R34 NEO plenum instead, this means I no longer need any injector bosses. Another delay sigh...

Oh yeah these are the two bolts that came back with my head when I got it machined and tickled, anyone have any idea where it goes? Lol

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
