I am back from 1 month of no SAU and car shit

Adaptronic is coming out, and is now for sales. $800 for SAU members $850 for Facebook or Scumtree or eScum

Ahh how good is it to have a month off.... (congrats by the way kent!!)

Why the move to a Halaltech?

Not going an Adaptronic modular, or an EMU Black?

As much as I support and recommend Adaptronic, a Haltech is so much faster to tune and get going when compared to an Adaptronic. The ECU Master range does look promising but never used it before, so means will need to spend time to acquaint myself with it.

Haha thanks man, part of the club now :)

I've outgrown the 440D Select and also over the idiosyncrasies involved with their software. Every time I set up the crank prime value it reverts back to a negative value approximately 4 to 6 starts, so these days I end up carrying the laptop with me to start the car lol.

Over night parts from Kudos Motorsports.

OEM wheel bearings all round, road safe ball joints all round and new washer motors because I like a clean windscreen lol.

So.... Had a few beers at work and accidentally ordered a few things.

AI SPR400, 1x DW200 lift pump, 1x more Wallahbro 460..

Hopefully no more fuelling issues ?

It is good to know that others do this. My Mrs is trying to convince me that late night / early morning orders from Plazmaman, rhd, amayama, etc. are a bad idea

Some parts to help my motor spin backwards and forget tunes ?

Special shout out to Alanah and James at Game On Motorsports. Twisted my arm and ended up with an Elite 2500 and a 4 bar MAP sensor instead of me only just getting an Elite 2000 and using the onboard 3 bar MAP sensor lol.

Currently car is at thr mechanic getting new wheel bearings and ball joints installed because I cbf doing it myself (although I have all the tools and access to my mate's press)

Planning on running more than 3bar boost?

Glad someone did the maths. I was going to get to it tomorrow if I had time.

You mean 2 bar of positive pressure, 3bar sensor needs to also read vacuum too :)

Also if you don't use the onboard MAP sensor you can use that to adjust the tune for atmospheric pressure changes

Lastly I prefer the MAP sensor as close to the plenum as possible.

    • We just disconnected the vacuum line if I remember correctly, booster is still there. Is there a rebuild solution for the booster or a different adapter that will work for GTR chassis?
    • Yeah 4wd (boosted) has a recess in the firewall for the booster, and 2wd is flat - the example in the link shows the flat surface. When you deleted the booster, did you just attach the factory slave cylinder directly to the recess in the firewall with no adaption?
    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
    • Thanks   does painting on aluminium work or stop them from corroding?
    • 'Sgot nothing to do with them being Japanese. The climate in the north of Japan has similarities to the UK - the cars are made in the knowledge that they have snow and salt, and they rot there. Cars made in the US rot like buggery in the US. British cars have always rotted regardless of the weather. They will rot indoors in a climate controlled bubble! The brackets are not unsafe yet, but they will get that way. They may well corrode where the bolt threads are in contact and the bolts could just jump out without warning.
