Sad to hear about the dog excrements in the ute. Should shoot three of their tyres yee haw.

Yeah, I live in an area once filled with bogans/housos. Their offspring still reside here, so you get an interesting lot.

Once I was crossing a road (in front of the Woolies carpark), using a  marked pedestrian crossing and this bogan chic (green station wagon Commo lol) reversed  down an one way street over the crossing then yelled at me for not looking.

Sigh, maybe one day I can afford to buy in a better area.

I'll give you notice where I buy my new house in just over a year, if you buy before that I hold no responsibility if you end up with a old Bogan who lives in your area

Let's waste money season.

Now with an additional 10AN fitting to loop back into the intake.

I managed to drill into the can and not dislodge any internal baffles, against what my fabricator said.

He did say I was brave, I then told him you should be more confident of your tack welds.

Anyhow, managed to slip a pipe into the 3rd baffle, theoretically this should avoid sucking up any liquid that gets spewed out by the stupid RB motor. The rest should spray onto the baffles and drop straight down into the sump drain.

Next is the turbo intake pipe, then send the lot back to the powder coaters to make me even poorer this month.

All this because I own a RB, meanwhile a 700kW 2JZ will have a $50 eBay catch can and it will be dry.

Not working today, both kids are asleep, no calls from work, why not work on the shit box.

As we all know, non of the modern standard head units fit nicely in these shit boxes. In the past with my previous head unit and previous shit box JDMs I used foam seal tape OR use those door brush seals. Thought I'll try something different this time round, and bought a $13 fascia off eBay (bought it like 6 months ago).

With no real way to attach the stupid thing, I decided to hot glue the cnut on.

Needed to trim the top, but overall looks better than before.

Might need to trim a tiny bit off the top, but that's a job for another year lol.

That means it's a level of love beyond the normal levels of care for an object.  It's your primal urge to maintain and care for it and nurture it back to health like a wounded dog.

I wonder at what point it became a primal urge for a bloke to start tending to the lawns around his cave/humpy?  They would have all laughed at the first Neanderthal as he sharpened up a stick purely for the purposes of tending to his patch of dirt!  Next minute everyone has a garden shed full of sharp sticks.  I digress.....  you love that bloody car!!  🤣

Well that didn't last long, ended up taking it out again today.

Useful shit box, kinda. At some stage, I'll get a custom slimline box made to go across the entire back trim, with a faux cover to cover up the surge tank lines.

Didn't win Powerball, can't buy a 911 GT3 RS.

Time to improve the shit box, so as we all know when you slap anything bigger than a stock pump, the OEM venturi causes a massive restriction, especially trying to control pressure on the rail.

When running a surge tank, you wouldn't care too much, however even with a 200L/h lift pump, there was still about 0.5bar of fuel pressure in the surge with the main pumps off.

This meant that the venturi was holding back the return line too much, building pressure for no reason, thus causing undesirable current draw, heat, noise etc.

So yeah, wasted more money to optimise something that would usually be over looked.

I hate it, if someone came to me with a 2018+ F80 M3 Competition, straight swap I would take it and my wife won't complain because I didn't need to add in more money.

I've surfaced the idea of selling the shit box and adding money for a F80 M3, her words "get fked, you're not selling anything". She reckons I'll end up buying another 90s JDM shit box in the future.

    • What can't be done with a little bit of decking board or similar timber bolted to a hub flange via 2 wheel nuts is not worth talking about.
    • I noticed something. On the tps sensor and the sensor behind the adjustment screw is adjusted towards the far left. Are these screws supposed to be centered? (this sensor was in the same position before the tune as well)  Also attached a photo of where my car usually idles at when warm (sometimes a tiny bit above that). I think I might have screwed up the calculation and it might have better than I thought lol at 750rpm still not 650rpm though.
    • So for both general interest of engine health, and to rule out any coolant/oil issues, I organised an oil analysis done on the 125,000klm oil Results below, all good, just a bit of fuel dilution which I'm not too worried about
    • This is actually a really good way of measuring what wheels fit. If only there was a similar measurement between hub face and suspension :p That said, it's probably pretty simple to actually measure it all with the wheel off the car for the rear. The front is a bit more complex but..
    • Being the top Google search result for R34 wheel-related inquiries, lemme throw down my experience. I calculated that 100mm from hub face to wheel face is about the perfect fitment for my ENR34 sedan.  I've been running 18x8.5s, ET35, with a 1" spacer. So, 8.5in to mm = 216mm. 216/2 = 108mm. 108-35 = 73mm. 73+ 25 (1" to mm) = 98mm.  If you wanna get close to this on dif widths, here are the offsets you'll want: 9" - ET around 15mm 9.5" - ET around 20mm 10" - you're crazy, but ET around 30mm All these should fit perfectly on a non-widebody, non-GTR Skyline. Note that it's probably the absolute max, and you're probably better off running a couple degrees of camber in this config, but it looks great, super flush.
