The heater on my R32 will only blow at the face vents

Hi all,

Just got my 1991 R32 and i noticed that the heater only blows out the face vents. It wont change to feet or windshield.. 

Has anyone had this problem??

Everyone who has has an R32 has had this problem.  The mode door actuator sticks.  Have a fiddle with the actuator arm while you change the mode on the dash.  If you are lucky it will unstick and work for another couple months before it sticks again.  Either that or its completely fkd and you need to fix and or replace it.  In either case have a google and you will find it behind the centre console panel thing below the glove box.

I was told by the seller when i bought my car that the blend door motor was broken when i got my r32, he had purchased another one already so gave it to me with the car, however upon investigation i found the 'broken' one was just unplugged, so i plugged it back in and it worked fine, however the stupid computer deciding for me : ooo he's dropped the temperature so he must want the air on his feet as that will be too cold for this face kind of behavior resulted in me disconnecting the blend door from its motor, and now i just adjust manually reaching under the steering column, not hard, can do while driving.

That's probably the buttons acting up. Mine does that sometimes.

Thanks to everyone i got it to work, it turns out the vents were stuck so i just had to manually open the and they started to work again...Thanks to all...!!!!!
