Broken COOLANT sensor

So I was removing my Coolant Temperature sensor to replace it with a new one and when I took it off it was snapped in half. I tried to get tweezers to get the other half out and it just fell in. Should I leave it or try and get it out even though I can't feel it anymore????????? Would it be a problem ??

yep, I would try and find that piece if that involves pulling off the thermostat housing and thermostat so be it

Dam what would be a pain in the ass, gonna have to flush everything and who knows where it is :S

Don't feel too bad. I once dropped a coil pack bolt into my R32. Couldn't find it after spending half an hour looking for it (including magnetic bolt picker into the cylinder chamber). Fired it up, ting ting ting, bye bye stock turbine wheel. Engine spat the broken bolt out with worry though lol. Was a good time for a NEO6 turbo.

Sadly my dad wrapped that car around a pole a couple of months later . Engine now lives in a pillarless R31.

Dam that's not good to hear, I think I broke it cause it's hard starting my car now and once the car is warmed up and I shut it off and start the car again it revs up to 2000rpm like it's cold when the engine is actually already warm

what else have you replaced?

Aren't they right near the radiator hose? Take the hose off and have a look inside, provided you haven't started it then it shouldn't have gone anywhere

I had a picture of the bits of bolt and the turbine pulled from the cat somewhere, lost it by now.
