G35 Climate contols in M35

Hi, 

 

I've just picked up a 2003 ARX but desperately need to evict the stereo. I know that the climate controls are integrated with the radio so I cant separate them. 

 

I was wondering if climate buttons from an 04 g35 will work and allow me to install a double din in the existing are once I modify the fascia?

Yeah it's a direct swap, you can do a flea bay search for g35 Jdm double din.. I have an '04 ARX, which is the series two, and that's what I need to get.. not necessarily cheap though (

OK, I have found just the button part, has a receptacle for the plug on the rear. I haven't pulled mine apart but is there separate leads for the climate and stereo?

I haven't done mine either, but from what I've read yes it's different plugs but it will be currently an intergrated panel that you won't be able to move the buttons as part of the existing fascia, which also means you won't be able to dremmel it out..

What will happen if I remove the entire popup screen and mechanism, will it affect the ac controls?

I believe it would work, but you still need the fascia to go with it [emoji106]

Again I don't believe it will do anything to affect the air con, as it's not necessarily intergrated..

Maybe joshm could answer a few questions for you..

So now there may be two options, use the buttons on my original fascia ( I think) or pull out the original sat nav and put a single din system in there.

Which fascia do you have ? The silver one from the series two or the black one that is a full piece that is a part of the two air con vents ?
