when i bought my skyline it had a really bad paint job so now i'm repainting it but i'm not sure what colour... i can't afford harelquin or pearlescent paint... so what colours turn out good on skylines? i've been thinking yellow or a green. Any pictures of these colours would be nice!

Phantom Purple has been done and is now common.

Hot house Green is a greaat colour, especially with a carbonfibre bonnet.

However its a Holden paint and we all know Holen paint is made with very shit chemicals.

Thanks,

Essential.

Hot house green looks damn nice i rekon that'd look good too, go for it. ;)

i do realise that it is a personal choice but i also believe getting advice is also a wise move?

Hot house green? - PICS?

SS8_GOHAN - you use the picture from my gallery photo? and put a green or a yellow?

so far i think i'm going for a monaro yellow

how are paint jobs usually done... my car will be sanded but will the original colour still be visiblein places like the inside of the door and places like that? the painter has assured me that he does a REALLY GOOD job and will guarantee it. he's taking 2 weeks to do it.

Kor: In issue number #46 of High Performance Imports Magazine there is a Toyota Supra on the front cover that is painted in "Lamborghini Diablo Burnt Orange" I belive this would look better and more origonal than any Holden colour or Ford colour for that matter, the paint is very nice. ;)

davor,

if you want to keep resale in mind then i woudn't go for yellow or green because no one is really going to buy it later down the track.

why not a dark blue or something that is fairly popular? or if you can afford it the dark purple from the R33gtr is absolutely gorgeous!

i gotta say midnight purple is the best by far (especially at night), but not so great price wise, so i would go for a darker colour (black, gun metal grey, etc) for a 32/33 and for a S2 R33 a lighter colour (silver, white, etc).

with the yellow and green... probly isnt the best choice, you will love it for about a month then you will start sayin... "wtf was i thinkn?", and i agree with WazR32GTSt about the resale... my friend had a yellow supra not long ago and it was pretty tough to sell even with a great price (even though i personally thought the yellow looked great! :D ).

    • Oh, there's also the gearbox crossmember which will probably be different between the small box and the big box, and the wiring loom will probably need to be modified, because the plugs for the switches etc, will probably be different. And I think the speedo on the small box R34s is from somwhere stupid, like the diff, possibly, so you'd need to work out what needs to be done about that (assuming it is different). I think the thing you need to realise is that the front end of that yoke is a large hollow tube with splines on the inside that mates with the splines on the box's output shaft. It is a dedicated thing - not available "aftermarket". They were made to suit that box, by the car's OEM.
    • You need to buy a Saab Matt, ours had a button that turned all the dash lights off. Any decent aftermarket dash has sufficient brightness control and a headlight input for day/night settings. None of which probably helps OP
    • Yeah thanks...i thought it would be alot more i dont know 😄 I saw some videos on converting push/pull and it seems you need to "drill" the hole for slave(master) cylinder and buy some converter kit. On that front yoke clip i did not even know that is a thing and i need to source that(custom shops do not do that?) But anyway thank you for the info
    • Not the headlight. It's the DRL that serves double duty as white and amber. Would be the easiest way to make it happen, if fitting a BCM was in any way an easy thing. Otherwise you'd do it with some relay logic and/or maybe some diodes.
    • Would require a very smart body control module which these cars are about 20 years to old to have
