ground out the gate port to nearly match the flap an smoothed out the port into the gate. anyone done anything like this an had better boost control an or gains in anyway

Might need a stronger actuator spring, since force=pressure x area and you may have just increased the area (if its sealing closer to the edge of the flapper)

Its only if you have boost creep issues
On the stock turbo its not needed has enough trouble holding 12psi up top .
The gate gonna get blown open by back pressure unless a very stiff actuator is used
