This article lists it as street legal in Australia: http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/blog/the-nitto-nt-performance-and-invo-tyre-range/

Also Toyo refers to the R888 as street legal on their site, it's the same compound as NT01 (though different tread pattern): http://toyotires.com.au/tyres/motorsport-tyres/item/20-proxes-r888

Neither is really a street tyre though, my R888R's are super noisy at freeway speeds and wear a lot faster than my KU36's. Also they pick up a lot of debris from the street because of the soft compound, so I certainly wouldn't run them as the primary tyre on a street or mixed use car.

I ment I don't want to have 2 sets of wheels.

It will be cheaper to have 2 sets of wheels if you plan to do a lot of track time.

I had a set of Bridgestone semis which were great on the track but not good on the road so I sold them.. I got a second set of wheels at relatively low cost and got second hand slicks from the NZV8 series - they get rid of them when they drop off half a second per lap but are fine for track days. If you have quality track tyres then you will just waste them driving on the street (plus they will be marginal after a few km and in the wet).

If you are determined to have one set only then you have to favour street use and put up with less than optimum track times.

Want my car to be street driven and for track too. Want to spend money once on the tyres

It you really want to run a single set only get AD08R or similar. Not as hardcore as the NT01 but also unlike them actually good for both street and track.

Otherwise a dedicated second set of rims and tyres or the track would be a good call.

if you're serious about doing any track time then another set of rims/wheels will be needed. Great for track ain't great for street. Or as above, AD08R, but won't last long on street so cheaper to hav a 2nd set, in the long run.

I run 315/30/18 nt01's on my rear and 265/35/18 advan ad08r's on my front and it's a winning combo for street and track and also has been suprisingly grippy and drivable in the wet... But yes the rears do pickup a lot of small rocks etc. but for the level of grip I'm now getting it doesn't bother me.

    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
    • No clips on this one like the other connector. Only that red tab that I can push slightly up.
    • For any loom connector that has an obvious release that resists pushing far enough to unclip, just spray some silicone lube into it. You might also benefit from using a bent screwdriver or small pick to push in the right place at the right angle.
