Hi guys,

Been rebuilding my Midnight Purple SII R33 over the past year and thought I'd share my powdercoating experience.

Had some rough looking 18" rims that had been previously spray painted black.

So looked at new 19" and $$ out of my range atm until my car exits the panel shop.

So decided to powder coat the 18" white.

Went about getting them sandblasted back to bare metal up at Tullamarine.

Then got our powder coaters to recoat them PEARL WHITE.

They look really great and well worth $$ if looking to refresh older rims.

Added some carbon fibre caps and they look fine as a cheaper option whilst saving up for some Japanese rims Work/Volk/Enkei.

Some photos of the finished product below :

Sandblasting was approx $40 - $50 per rim. Again depends on work required. But you need to remove anything plastic and weights from each rim beforehand. These had little plastic inserts stuck in with double sided tape which took me 2hrs to remove which was annoying.

Powdercoating is usually approx $450 for 4 Rims. But I got it done cheaper as our workplace gets work through them on a regular basis.
All depends on what colour you want and rim size.

Approx $50 for new centre caps.

They look brand new again!
Mainly did it because I like the huge dish on these rims.

Looks good mate, what kind of price was is all up, roughly?

It's usually around $100 per wheel for sandblasting and coating.
Check out dulux powdercoat for a small selection of colours.

Those wheels turned out amazing!

Got the Sandblasting done at Chandler Engineering, Tullamarine.
Powder coating done at Top Cote , Airport West.

Both great places. And both places know each other.

Definitely recommend both businesses.
Nice blokes.
