It's the opposite, making a list will make me feel bad as I see all the things.

Slowly chipping away without a big list of expensive and time consuming tasks and items looming over me is much better for my mental health :D

Am not dead, just busy with home renos, other projects and MTBing.

Building new/refreshing old post and rail timber fence, like 20-30m worth, lots of painting, digging, cutting n shit, almost there. Landscaping in spring, turf, sprinklers and all that jazz.

This is a section of new stuff, those posts are hand tamped because apparently farmers say that's the best way 0_0

Bought $1000 MJ Triton farm ute, chucked in new transfer case seals and centre bearing, refresh oil/brake fluid/coolant, about to chuck in some new lower ball joints. Carby 2.6L petrol beast.

MTBing continues, had my first decent off at 40km/h+ but bailed on the bike (say no to clipless pedals folks) and ended up running down the trail unscathed as the bike ate rocks, added a front mudguard which seems to helping keep the front stanchions clean. No other major mishaps :D

Went camping over Easter, our 3rd time as a family and 2nd with the new tent, got jack of all the tubs/packing/setup crap with the tent/trailer and decided to buy something else, started looking at campers ended up with a little 16ft pop top thing (1500/1800 Tare/ATM).

Added trans cooler (21 row vs 5 for the stock unit) and redarc tow controller to the Prado and switched to stock rubber (surprising how much better the car is to drive on stock rubber vs the ATs it had). 21L per hundred towing it home from Sydney (vs mid 11s up) not caring about economy and aiming for 100 climbs and 110 everywhere else passing caravans and trucks on the regular. Go the Petrol :D I did care about trans temps though so favoured climbing hills locked in 4th at 100 vs unlocked at 110, temps locked were mid 60s to mid 70s which is great.

I am helping MM 4x4 develop his lockup mate for the V6 so I will get one of those as part of the process to help further but honestly it tows fine now as it is, a bit better economy would be great though.

Hoping to get away camping again next few weeks.

As per insta, DM Motorsport is back from WTAC and back on the tools, tells me the girdle sits a bit proud so it'll be machined to marry up with the sump pan/block etc and work continues on the head. Good to see it moving again.

Still here.

Modding LCA's almost finished the first one. Just gotta weld that longer gusset in.

Most of my time has been on the Prado getting it ready to tow the van on holiday.

- Bags
- Rear anderson
- Lockup controller all in

Bags were only just done, waiting to see if they leak, pushlock makes me nervous. Big job, springs out, cut bump stops, put bags in, make mount, drop tow bar to fit the mount etc etc. Easily took me 4hrs.

Rear anderson was fiddly, tow pack out as wanted to weld a good strong mount for it given how anderson plugs can be. Thanky fully I was only running to the rear power setup and not the front of the car.

Lockup mate isn't bad, definitely holds lock longer and would be great for someone who had no idea about how to drive for lock, but does add a little harshness in some situations, thankfully it's very easy to turn on and off so maybe just use for towing the van/driving in hills as needed.

Forgot are you extending rears to or fixing just doing wider wheels?
Having a tow car sorted is the best makes it good for those long trips.

Wasn't planning on doing rears as there's plenty of clearance for them, the fronts are primarily to bring back the camber I'll need that was lost standing the hub up at the knuckle to get something like an 18x10 +10 to clear the strut. Some extra track up front wont hurt either.

Will need wider guards/flares all round too.

I still have tubs to do in the front as well.

Holiday was good, towing mods went well. Bit heavy on fuel, but to be expected for Petrol V6 and I did overtake a LOT of other caravans lol.

Head updates, Dale says is about 60-70% done.

Divider is not finished in these pics.

Also I was considering doing a basic build on my spare block/crank so I can just throw a manual in the car and go racing while I wait for the better engine and work out how to do ZF swap etc. Like mid 200s to 300rwkw max type thing. Plus I've always wanted to DIY an engine build.

I cam across these GTiR rods from a guy who bought them out of Dales S15 he had, can anyone identify the rod bolts?

Stock seem to have TT stamped on them, Dale seems to think they are ARP, contracted by Nismo.

And this pic is one Dale sent me showing stock rod bolts vs what he thinks are Nismo/ARP spec.

Well you guys were useless so I didn't buy those rods, going to keep my spare block and crank as just that, spares in case. I still want to do an engine build of some sort at some stage. Conteplating a sub say 8k track car so I have something to drive while I keep building Silvia, any track only 86s out there? MX5 seem popular too? Last model Celica and corolla Sportivo any good? (Both 140+kw engine).

Last ride out my cranks came off due despite me having bolt checked them before, bike shop said they had seem some issues with these so gave me $$ to spend on better ones at their expense which just turned up. 2 steps up from what I had so that's nice. No ride yet, haven't had time.

Oh yeah, guess who just ordered some new rims? This guy!

No spoilers plz.

Was it you that bought my ce28sl's??  Suit the s13 nicely 👌 😅

Or you talking bike rims 😆

Wasn't me and yes car rims, nothing too fancy but brand new only my second new set ever lol

Chipping away, 1st arm is done now, second arm was measured and carefully cut, better cut than the first one. Need to stop being so lazy and careless with the welder and get my positioning setup better as the gun wanders all over the place and I'm just not being focused enough.

Thinking I rough them up and give a fresh coat of paint and maybe new bushes. Would also like some new boots for the ball joints. Do people go spherical for the LCA inners?

Went for a ride on the new cranks, surprised to say I could actually notice a small difference in the weight of the rotating mass. Been 2mths since the last ride, fitness and skill was not there, had a minor off, no damage, but did find an amazing bit of track which I'll be back to hit again when weather permits.

A mate said the previous welds looked a little cold and wanted me to try push instead of pull, seems to have been hotter and he was happier with that.

One more gusset to go.

Rims have been made and are awaiting paint and freight.

Gotta admit it does generate a little excitement.

Oh and guess who's wheels are coming early...
