So what do you recommend a GTX3582R?

I was looking at the flatwell single turbo manifolds and then just do a tial 44mm waste gate. Still want some response like something under 5k. I had a bit turbo E30 and the boost came on at 5,000 and I was shifting at 7500 lol f**king usless

new singles are NOTHING like that.

New singles have better response than twins.

 Thank you

can I just say this forum has been the single biggest help to owning the car. American car forums have completely gone to shit over the years. But coming here was a really nice , I'm just gonna copy the exact same manifold turbo and waste gate they used.

Are the greddy intake manifolds worth it ? Mine looks terrible and if where gonna be pulling that much apart on the car I wanna replace it. Only 700 dollars.

as mentioned above in a perfectly relevant way, stock engine will probably give up soon enough though, so would pay to look at that I think

I have heard of the stock RB26 bottom end will run around 12psi safely. 14psi is pushing it. But i'm no a mechanic/tuner. I know a basic rebuild will cost you $6000+ in Australia. Good luck with your choice mate. Nice choice of car.

Thanks guys for all of the help here's some pictures I got of the car today with my buddy's GTST

im still waiting on my Jun front lip so car looks really really goffy with out the front lip

Motive r32 is running 600hp or close to it and 25+ psi on e85 and still going strong
JEM r34 was making something like 700+ hp and 30psi before it eventually let go
I personally ran 21psi on 98 with twins on standard bottom end with no issues

It's all in the tune and the health of the motor

Plenty have managed to kill them with 20 psi though.

It wasn't the 20 psi that killed them.

You need a good build or sound stock engine and then if you are going to push it a top quality tune is a must. Finally drive with a modicum of sense and observation.

Having said that engines can let go unexpectedly for a variety of reasons.

Hey I am currently converting my twin -5's to a 6262 twin scroll, aim is responsive 450kw, for ages I thought it'll cost 6k to do. Realistically it's more like 10k+

Just been quoted $4600 just for fabricating including oil cooler mount and catch can, turbo cost $2300 landed

Manifold $1350, oil lines and block offs $500, wastegate 50mm turbosmart $650. Flex fuel and tune $3500-$4000, or just going with the one fuel type $800-$1000 tune.

Twin pumps n surge tank $1200

Injectors $800

I just recently had to rebuild the motor. So I said why not go single.. with in mind thinking it'll cost me 4-6k as everyone says.. I know that afterwards it'll be unreal which I spoke to a tuner and he said I should easily make 500atwkw on e85 with better response then the -5's.

Think long and hard, it's a lot of money and not as cheap as everyone makes it out to be. If you budget the right amount of money you would be disappointed.

Do ur maths and add it up then + $2k extra for any unforeseen problems that will come up lol, if you want to stick with twins I have a lot of top end parts which will work well to get you to the 400kw.

lol I know the struggle when my last build was my wide body turbo E30 it's still not finshed and everyone said going to a turbo would only cost 4K I ended up closer to 10k once everything was said and done. I own a large E cig Manufacting company so I'm doing pretty well on funds I just hate buying the wrong things. I rather spend the money on good quality parts then cheap crap that is going to brake or leave me stranded. I have a rule if the car leaves you on the side road more then 4 times it get garaged until I can trust it again.

But I plan on doing it in stages. ARP head studs and a head gasket. With HKS stage one cams and adjustable cam gears. While everything is pulled apart I'll do the Greddy intake manifold and complte fuel system. With R35 MAFs. I'll get it retuned and cruise around like that for awhile and then build up the funds for the turbo manifold waste gate custom plumbing exhaust and all the other things no one accounts for. There's a lot of info out there but i feel like no one can ever come together and be like boom injectors fuel rail fuel pump Ecu turbo manifold waste gate and so on and so on.

Personally I think you are wasting time with a greddy intake manifold, stick with stock unless aiming for well over 500kw then go for a plasmaman or hypertune or something similar.

Didn't see you addressing oiling anywhere in your post, I would pull engine, enlarged and gated sump plus billet gears, baffling and restrictors in head with a good catch can. Head gasket and studs along with the fuel you mentioned and ecu. Then beat on the standard bottom end until it goes, with oiling and balancer etc it should last awhile and hopefully will be ring lands that fail not bearings meaning a cheaper rebuild.

While it's out replace a heater hoses and do major service etc, get covers painted, all fiddly odds and ends.

As others have said if going above a -7/9 size range ditch twins.

A lot of your cost is not down to converting to a single. 500AWKW is never going to be cheap.

Since you have mentioned the ECU,  if you can sell the PFC ...get yourself a Link and forget the MAFs and future proof your build.  And I can recommend the good old US made Synapse wastegate (unless you go  with one of the internally wastegated singles).

Hi Dirty3092. To give you an idea on how easy it is to make more grunt with near standard response, we have a 32 i have built here in regional qld where the average temp is mid to high 30's. It has an 8374 efr on it at 19psi and makes just shy of 575hp atw. It is a stock bottom end, oil pump ect, just a basic port on the head and drop in cams (my old head) . Thats on shell 98. Twins are purely for nostalgic purposes these days.

nothing wrong with twins. save your money, keep the standard manifolds-piping ets
gtx2860/63 will be fun and make the power you want
if your after 800+ then go single. i went single and there is some work involved not to mention your dump needs to be fabed with twins you have shelf items ready to go
