Auto Transmission differences R33 SI & SII

Just a quick question in regards to auto transmissions between series 1 & 2 for R33 GTST coupes.

 

I own a 97 SII auto.

 

I figure autos arent that hard to source but it would be good to know the differences if any.

 

Was looking at buying a spare auto but the buyer advised its from a 94 model.

I remember reading here somewhere on SAU about older autos only were 3 speed?

Does anyone know where/what series/years had different transmission gear set ups?

They're all 4 speed, even the R32s.  I can't tell you any smaller differences, because I categorise all of them in one group..... as scrap metal.

They're good for up to +/-450HP "apparently" ...though Im not interested in increasing HP atm.

Scrap metal is exactly what happened to mine.  Car came from Japan as an auto.  Not too long after the auto tranny fell into the scrap metal bin and the hole where it came from was filled with a real gearbox and a clutch.

I found out that there is no difference between Series BUT there was a difference between a turbo and non-turbo.
Bell housings are different for obvious reasons.

Um.....what?  Yes, turbo and non-turbo are different.  Turbo box is the stronger one.  But the bellhousings are all the same.....in that they all bolt up to all RB blocks.

They are different from 33 to 32 in that the 32 has a cable driven speedo and 33 doesnt

But s1 and s2 33 auto trans should be the same

There all the same from what I've seen. Like mentioned above cable speedo and electronic. That's about it.
