Came across these on YouTube - can anyone with Japanesey skills shed some light on the narrative? 

Either way, these are cool and appealing for obvious reasons.

Yeah, pretty cool huh. I can't understand due to language barrier, but it seems like a custom shop. The rails inserted into the sills would surely be helpful. Plating some of those areas would be relatively easy to do, so I'm considering making some templates and having a go.

I wonder what some of the more involved builders would have to say about his approach.
