Rb25 det running poorly - coil related?

not sure if related to the coil or dirty plugs but my rb25 seems to run with a struggle in low rev range. The rev range is not smooth and feels like its spitting.

It has 5 red jacket coils and 1 standard coil which the previous owner diagnosed as the cause of the issue.

Im in the process of removing plugs and just needed a confirm from others who have had this issue resolved.

is it the odd coil, dirty plugs, or both?

Thanks

Could be anything but borrow a known good set of coils to confirm. I would only use genuine OEM coils or Splifires. Pull the plugs while the coils are out and if they are not in good cond get a new set gapped to 0.8mm

Is the problem noticeable at idle?

If so, pull coilpack plugs one at a time while idling. Listen for a note change as you pull the plug. If there is no note change or a less pronounced note change one one, then chances are that is your dud coil (if that is indeed the problem)

yeah it happens in idle and gets less noticeable as the revs climb.

I just hope its nothing major to do with the motor. I'm getting new plugs to go in with the coils. The owner had mixed plugs and 3 of them require a larger socket to take out.

I don't get why people do that
