RB20 or RB25 Swap Couple Questions

I have an automatic c33 Laurel right now with the RB20E.

 

I plan to keep it automatic for now when I do the swap.

 

Couple questions: If I go RB20DET, can I keep the rb20e trans? What mods would I need to make/what else would I need?

 

If I go RB25DET, can I keep the rb20e trans? What mods would I need to make/what else would I need?

So just get them with their stock auto trans if I want to leave it auto? 

Cause I've heard of some people turning their rb20e trans to manual and then swapping to rb20det and it's fine
