In need of a sleeper engine

Hey my engine on the verge of exiting my car abruptly and in need of a new one so... if anyone out there knows of a small but powerful engine to swap into a Toyota Tercel to make a beast of a sleeper car please help anotha brotha out.

Oh, sorry missed the small in your description.
Tercel was a corolla sized car if I recall correctly.
Maybe a Celica engine of some sort would suit.

If you want to be spoon fed where to find the engine, you are going to struggle massively with a conversion.
