RX4 coupe buzz box. Ported 13B, sweet sweet sound winding up to 9k frequently. Loved that thing. Sadly, very impractical and hard to find a decent one that hasn't been converted to V8 or absolutely destroyed. Unfortunately i dont have any pics handy as i owned it pre digital camera days.

Looking at your number plates on the wall, I used to have a mate with CDUCTV in NSW.

I just googled him, brought back some memories.

In an effort to stay on topic, I'm not sure if he regrets selling it.

This story sounds very similar to a lot of other people here... :1_grinning:

What has surprised me most is how often people with GTRs are approached with straight up cash offers. I've never experienced anything like it before.

Experienced this a lot with the 200 when it was a stocker. I can remember at least 2 occaisions when notes have been left on the car asking if i want to sell it in addition to always getting hassled at traffic lights about selling it.

The gtr doesnt get out that much these days haha

happens to me with my 200, its 99% stock and is waxed more often than driven.

my first N15 SSS. I miss the N13, but probably not worth the effort.

The N15 was in decent condition, mechanically great, didnt have any of the typical issues that others did. Engine was refurbished after it was semi-lunched by the previous owner when I bought it. I bought another N15 with heaps of mods, and while it came with some nice goodies, in hindsight I should have just kept the first one and gone all-out with it instead :(

I too had an N13 pulsar, I treated that car like shit. Poor thing it deserved a better owner. I discover that flat shifting at the redline gave you "extra" revs and made the car faster... for a while and than the bottom end bearings were toast. Rebuilt the engine. Ruined the rest of the car with my idiotic driving after that (never crashed it though, that's why I thought I was Schumacher). smh

It was one just like this;

Oh yes lets go there ! ! !

Old school ! : -

1966 HR Holden Premier 186S that was factory fitted with the opal four speed gearbox ( these were supposed to run at Bathurst in the day but the gearboxes didn't make it off the boat in time )

Alfa Romeo 1968 Gulia Sprint GT AM - this was a very rare supercharged model that was fitted out in Europe with all the race fruit for the time.

1948 Ford Anglia Coupe - this one was a light weight racing model and had a hand built all aluminum body.

And now I must got and punch myself in the head yet again for selling them ! ! !

    • Duh... to answer my own silly question, it's actually described in the FSM... ...400 pages away at the end of the manual, for RB25DE/DET signal descriptions, it cites the TPSwitch signal action, is dependent on the TPSensor value ~ this tends to infer the builtin POT voltage signal is the primary, and the switches are fallback/secondary should the POT fail/TPSensor signal lost (and switch alone with no TPSensor signal allows for base idle speed setting).... makes sense... they (TPS units) used to fail/wear the POT with time, they're not exactly built to last ~ having the switch as a redundancy gets around this...(or, it's less likely both signals would be lost as they're on different power rails)... and of course wrt RB26DETT, you have to electrically disconnect the IACV solenoid from the harness, to defeat idle air control...
    • Dose is unaware just how much fun 145-150kw would be in a 2.5L NC MX5. It would be one of the most fun things to drive to ever grace SAU.
    • Same thought crossed my mind ~ depends on how one connotes 'stalling'...ie; gets a rough/stumbling idle as it get warm until it stalls... or... idles ok and simply falls-over when it gets to temp... ...you can test the whole circuit with a couple of resistors ...unplug coolant temp sensor, bridge terminals with a 2K7 resistor (ECU will do cold start), or with engine warm bridge with a 330R resistor (ECU will consider engine to be at normal operating temp)...it's a quick way to check wiring integrity/ECU response when you don't have a multimeter handy ...
    • They also make them with the motor mounted on the side
    • Just be warned that that turbo will not be a direct re-fit to the car. The exhaust housing is, of course, in the same place. It has to be - it's bolted to the exhaust manifold. So the dump will fit up. But the centre housing is not as long, so the comp housing will move backwards. This will affect both the turbo inlet and the outlet. There is fab work that needs to be done. Yes. it has one, it should have one. Paper gasket.
