Over the period of 10 years I have got about 20 slabs and had my trailer rebuilt 3 times by people borrowing it

dont lend trailers

This!

Since buying a new trailer I've never loaned it out and have no intention to. Previous trailer was damaged each time someone borrowed it. People have no respect for others' property.

I hear this alot. I guess it depends who you lend it to.

A mate bought himself a newish trailer recently and is very selective about who uses it.

If he doesn't like their style he just says no, simple as that.

A decent tilt trailer is 3-5k.

Borrowing the neighbors costs me $40-50. At the local track here's a spot to get it on and off without the extra ramps.

Reckon I can hold out a bit longer while I'm still able bodied lol

That trailer looks like it weighs a ton but of course it depends on the distances you tow and the load as to how relevant weight is. My 500kg Tilta Trailer is brilliant, solar panel keeps the battery charged, from Qld it's been to PI and Bathurst twice, slight buckle in one alloy wheel after hitting a monster pot hole at speed.

Probably not light, but I've never needed to go more than an hour down the road with it and the Silvia isn't too heavy.

I will say, I had to limit my speed to 100 when I towed the GT-R as it got a little wiggle on above that regardless of where I put it.

Yeh my Cherokee is rock solid towing at any speed including braking down hill, the PB Challenger diesel was a POS compared.  The C's long wheelbase with the rear wheels close to the towing point and generally good dynamics helps a lot.Engine just needs a chip.

Is it the latest one that has all the electrical issues?

For the price difference, gotta say I'm making do just fine with the Terri (free work car).

Though I was thinking about adding a trans cooler when I fit the brake controller for a pending camper purchase.
