Hi guys,

I am about to replace the stock turbos on my RB26DETT powered GTS-T. My questions are;

1/ Is it worth rebuilding the turbos and having them highflowed? How much to get this done? (Im in sydney)

2/ Has anybody done the work themselves? How complicated is it? Any special tools required?

3/ How much should i be paying in labour for a workshop to pull the old tubs off and put the new ones on?

4/ Can anyone recommend a workshop in sydney to do the work?

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Lawrence

1) not really , there are plenty of deals on new terbs with better housings than spending the $2-2.5K rebuilding yours

2) No special tools, just a LOT of patience and do NOT bend the oil and water lines or you will be sorry.

3 )if they are straight replacement, we usually charge around $800 plus gaskets cos it's a prick of a job with the engine in the car.

4) Can't help you with that but stick to w/shops that know and have worked on these cars rather than go for just the cheapest price.

Cheers

Thanks Ken.

How much is a gasket kit roughly? Is that a nissan original part?

I wrote another post asking whether the standard gtr ecu runs ok with N1 tubs or whether a Power FC upgrade is essential, it was suggested that you have a good amount of experience to answer that question!??

Thanks,

Lawrence
