There will be something, somewhere. Maybe in the driver or passenger's door jab if not under the bonnet.

Who did you buy it from?

If nothing else, you can contact DOTARS and get a copy of the import approval based on your japanese VIN#. It will be something like ER34-xxxxxx.

dotras I'm not sure :P but DOTARS are the federal govt department that issue import approvals for every car that enters the country. They will have a record of how your car entered and with what sort of approval that should help https://infrastructure.gov.au/vehicles/imports/

Compliance

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of getting a car complied - the RAWS workshop said they had sent off the paperwork almost 3 weeks ago...

Just wondering if any of you guys have recently had a car complied and how long it took DOTARS to get the plate back?

Cheers :)

Strap yourself in mate, it can take anywhere from 4 - 8 weeks. Mine took close to 8. I'd say 6 - 8 is the norm, with anything less than 6 being a big bonus.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365.
