R34 bubbling steering reservoir

Ive noticed steering fluid being thrown around and bubbling in the reservoir from what I assume is the return hose about 5mins after startup, but I see no air bubbles on the surface of the fluid when I look into the bottle. Operation of the steering hasnt changed, no obvious leaks from boots or hoses and no noise.

Is it normal? Ive had dodgy pumps in other cars and never saw anything like this.

It's the heat from your turbo that's boiling the power steering fluid .
Mine was doing the same , my fluid was brownish in colour due to being over cooked .
I just drained the reservoir and replaced with fresh fluid ...all good now .

Its an N/A GT-V and its recently started to do this. Fluid looked very dark so I dumped the reservoir, refilled and bled with no change. Could it just be worn out fluid causing the issue?

Yes ....
I changed out the fluid in the reservoir 3 times over the space of a few months ...
Fluid is still red 12 months later and only get minimal boiling even when it's 40+ degrees
It's just the heat from the exhaust side of the engine cooking the fluid .
