Cat converter, exhaust, please help

Hi fellow skyliners,

I have a 2008 v36. My car has been having a rattling noises when idling. I took it to my mechanic and he reckons its cat converters. Upon asking nissan for quotes it's about $3800 for the two plus labour. I was thinking that I could possibly get something else probably cheaper and as effective? I am not looking for something really loud... I kinda like the stock sound but don't mind if it gets a bit louder and deeper. My mate told me that he removed the cats but ever since he's been having fuel efficiency probs.

 

Could I get something after market that would do the job and give me bang for my buck?

 

Would really appreciate all help, suggestions and ideas.

Go to an exhaust shop, not Nissan.

If you want to go high flow, then Fast Intentions does very good ones and sound pretty darn good too

I can't believe even Nissan would charge you $3800 for a couple of cat converters.

Thanks mate, I couldn't find v36 on there. I know I can look at g37 but there's also 370Z.. So not too sure about which one would fit best.

Excellent link mate, I've messaged George on ebay asking for recommendations. Personally I don't mind spending up to $2k for the exhaust system. Let's see. Any suggestions on good ones? As I mentioned, I am not looking for attention something loud and attention seeking.

I think they are the same fitment, you can always check with the seller

370z would be shorter I think exhaust wise. You might want to get G37 ones. It's a straight fit since they are the same cars.
