Car Price Changes

Hi,

Just wanted to get another person's input as i'm not sure the reasoning. What is with so many cars these days listing their price and increasing it by large increments a few hours/days after listing. Like most individuals who follow the cars will know it has increased and many especially on carsales have notifications for price changes. Anybody have any clue?

Regards,

Peter

No idea man but the 32 gtr I got this year was advertised at $36,999 in November last yeah then the price went to $39,999 in march this year, I went and had a look at the car in may and mentioned the price change, we haggled for abit and I still feel like I got it for a good price but I wish I haggled with him prior to the $$$ increase in march lol

This is someone trying to make a quick buck, this car was sold the new owner has listed it for 120k.
One guy also bought 2 33gtrs both of which I had looked at.
The new owner then advertised them a week later for 10k and 15k over what was previously asked
AND they have now both sold!

I think the OP is referring to the same seller, i.e. "increasing it by large increments a few hours/days after listing." and it's probably because they've under priced it originally, had 10 people instantly say i'll buy it at the asking price and realise they might be able to get more.

Interest and people putting money on the table are different things. I see these cars which have a random price increase and then still sit on carsales for months on end. Not many R34's move from what i've seen unless they are priced realistically as it seems importing it better value for money for those cars at the moment. Also a big flood of dealer imports atm overcharging massively

Your on the money there Peter, I have seen heaps of these prices going all over the shop.

The white R32 in Victoria was put on Carsales the other day for 33k and an hr later it was 39,900..

Another is a silver one in nsw was 39,990 then went down to 35,x00 then up to 36,800 for a month and now it's back at 39,990 haha.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
