Seems to be going downhill from here :)

Call Famous Class Car Insurance 1300 886 029, they are in WA.

They quoted me $3299/yr for comprehensive. I have no idea how reputable they are, but I am strongly considering them because they are a lot cheaper than other places.

Also, a few other places:

Will Suncorp do insurance in WA before I waste 10 minutes of my life on hold ?

Suncorp will nearly allways answer the phone in about 20 seconds...never ever had a problem. And i have a few other insurances through them.

0% rating 6, you will go to rating 7 after a claim and about the only people who will touch you is Just Cars for a price(experienced it myself). If you currently have insurance through some other place that is cheaper than Just Cars, don't let your insurance lapse as they won't take you back until on rating 6 again (1 year, experience again). But if you just renew the policy at rating 7 they (usually) won't decline insurance.

I tried Shannons. They said they only insure "collector or vintage cars" or if you belong to a club of some sorts (the group of guys down the carpark doesn't count unless fully incorporated). They have indicated if you are in a club they were not likely to insure you for everyday driving, only weekend club events.

But this was a little while ago, it may be different.

I'm not sure who I am with, it's a deal my father got through a broker, but he's paying around $900 for his 2 door STI and I'm paying about $850 for my R33 GTST and I'm 26, so looking what other guys are paying, I must have a good deal!

What broker?!?!?! :)

ive found that the best option is to (as soon as you get your drivers licence) put your name on your parents insurance policy as a 5% time driver. i probably only drove my parents cars about once a year.

anyway.. the point is it that my name being on their policy counts towards my NCB. so i have a 55 or 60% NCB (cant remember which one it is)... but ive been quoted something like $875 pa. for first party insurance.

i should point out that the figure includes that the car must be garaged at night and i do live in a safer than normal suburb for which i was told decreased the figure by heaps! thank god coz im so rediculously low on cash atm... haha.. but then again i will be the coolest looking guy who cant even afford to buy his lunch.. hehhee:D priorities? 1)skyline 2) eating

    • They've had some weird failures on their brake actuators. One of them was because they added some kind of lubricant to the factory fill brake fluid that aftermarket brake fluid didn't have so it would affect the seals. Another was just mysterious, probably internal corrosion or something eating away at Prius brake actuators. Parts alone for those are a few thousand USD so not a cheap fix.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
