Awesome update! I did the exotics racing F430 in May too!! (but last year) was good fun but over way too soon.

Do you have any further details on this setup? is it a product or DIY?

Here you go, its a little bit clunky at first but I wanted something more modern and pull data straight from the ecu. It also has a media control but need an external amp to power speakers

2019 Updates :D

Sold my Monaro over the weekend :( but got to buy a Unimig 200Amp ac/dc tig and start making the intercooler pipes. First time welding aluminium and happy with it for now. Hot side is all welded and just need a 90 degree silicon, cold side is have cut the the first 2 bends up.

Also started doing a LS conversion in a mates vh commodore so my time is currently split between the 2 cars.

Hoping to finish pipe work & exhaust on the sil80 by Friday and going away over the long weekend so may program the ecu & start the car mid next week

Pipe work all done and engine now ready for coolant. Got lazy with the exhaust and bought a justjap cat back will finish fitting it tomorrow and waiting on the aluminium box for astra power steering set up then will fire up and start tuning next weekend

Went to put coolant in last night to start it up and then there was a big puddle on the floor so gave up.

First thing this morning removed radiator and it had a crack where I had ground abit too much off to fit it better. A quick weld and refit it all and no more leaks ?

Put in a battery, plugged in the laptop and loaded a base file. Started testing injectors, igntion, set up e throttle & calibrated cas.
Hit the key and it spluttered to life but won't stay idling BUT it does start. Have organised to get some help sorting the tune.
Pretty happy that it at least starts and done everything myself this time around.
Will get a video once its running nicely

Got the car idling well after rechecking a few things in the PCLink software and sorting out the wideband input
First time out of the shed in 18 months

Video of idle so much smoother with the DBW setup

Got it on the dyno tonight and didn't all go to plan
End result was 227kw on 14psi no matter what we did. Wastegate spring is too soft (7psi) & leaking at manifold flange, catalytic converter may have collapsed and fuel may be off (tried mixing half a tank with old & fresh). Got a few small water & oil leaks.

Plan is to get a gate spring tomorrow, drop the cat out with decat pipe, reseat wastegate, fix all the leaks, drain fuel and double check base timing.
Got 2 other cars to get ready for racing & setup the race event this weekend so will try and get back on the dyno next week

Also bought a dedicated circuit/drift car

Sr20, gt30 T2 flange, Link g4+ plugin, coilovers.
was a great deal so couldn't pass it up. Plan is to do all new suspension, r33 brakes, add some sensors to engine (IAT, Oil Pres & temp, Fuel Pres & temp and a flex sensor), fixed back seat and a big tidy up. Need to bin the kebab spec dual sub setup too.

Haha we have very similar tastes. I have an RB20 S15 street car and just picked up a basic SR20 drift car same as yours.

I bought a G4+ plugin for it and adding Oil pressure/temp, Coolant pressure/temp, Fuel pressure/temp, Manifold air pressure/temp and flex fuel sensor. Can throw up some pics of how i did it all if you want, was a bit of dicking around but well worth it imo.

    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
    • Silly question, as I bet you've checked already, but the motor turns over by hand yes? I suspect Neil has a spare starter, though if not, I believe I have a spare R33 (or two) starter.
    • Yeah just run one of those posts to the Link like GTSBoy said. From google it looks like a "mishimoto boost controller" is a manual boost controller. Since you already have the link just buy any MAC valve and plumb it in where the mishimoto is now. Wires to the solenoid should come from the Link's / standard loom boost control wiring (I guess you have an r32, not sure if it is gtst or gtr, if it is GTR where is a 2 pin connector near the engine bay fuse box/injector resistor for that purpose, assuming the standard boost controller is gone)
    • No. The ECU's hose is for a connetcion between the plenum (assuming single throttle body, not ITBs) and the ECU's internal MAP sensor. This is the primary load measurement of the ECU - so you need to get this one right. This has NOTHING to do with the boost contol. The wastegate also needs to see a boost signal - but it is actually far better for it NOT TO COME FROM THE PLENUM (again, assuming single TB, and not ITBs). This should come from the turbo's compressor housing (assuming there is a nipple on there, which there might well not be), or on the boost pipe somewhere between the turbo and the TB. On the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler is usually most convenient. The boost controller is then located between that boost source and the wastegate, ACCORDING TO THE CORRECT PLUMBING DRAWING FOR THAT BOOST CONTROLLER. There is no general diagram or instruction that will be correct for every case. Then the other ports on the plenum are for purposes such as Duncan described. If the boost controller has an internal MAP sensor, for a boost display, etc, then it will want to be hooked up there, alongside the ECU and the FPR.
    • Ok gotcha, so one post to fpr  another to bov  and I have the mishimoto boost controller and a link g4+ so I’d just have the tuner set it up properly. For the last two from plenum post throttle to  ecu/ boost controller, I know that I have a hose coming from the ecu that I was confused about so I assume that’s what connect to the boost controller from the ecu? And then the last is just from plenum to boost controller then to wastegate?
