Importing a Skyline - What mods?

I'm looking at importing a 1996 R33 Skyline (Spec2). I've been told by a friend that I should try import a car that already has the exhaust and intercooler done. I'm completely new to this so I gather he means its been refitted with an aftermarket exhaust and intercooler like a nismo etc?

Is there anything I should be asking for when organising to import a car? I'm not looking to mod the R33 too much, probably just some nismo 400R 17" alloys and sideskirts to begin with.

From what i understand all non standard mods on any car not going for the 15year rule needs to be bought back to total stock to be complianced. That means that if it has an aftermarket exhaust/intercooler on it it will be removed, scrapped(you dont get to keep it) and you need to get a stock one put back onto the machine. Tho it would be ideal to bring one over with those mods, since they need ot be removed ist just more cost for you. Get a totally stock car to save yourself some effort/cash.
